Job Details
Responsibilities
- Support pilot and product improvement programs using PCAD analytical methods
- Execute a wide array of characterization assays, including flow cytometry, qPCR, ddPCR, protein- and immuno-assays potency, cell-based, and impurity testing
- Interface with PCAD, QC, PD, and MSAT teams to ensure timely delivery of project data
- Manage PCAD-specific inventories including cold-storage, cell banks, etc.
- Interface with Facilities and Operations teams for equipment installation, PM, calibration, IOQ, etc.
- Perform data tracking / data trending for monitoring assay performances and product characterizations
- Collaborate with AD scientists to assist with training, transfer, improvement and qualification of assays
- Recording, interpretation, and reporting of data in agreement with good documentation practices
- Perform notebook reviews, data integrity and data quality checks for study reports
- Author SOPs governing standard equipment usage
- Maintain clean, organized, efficient lab environment
- Adhere to GxP requirements as needed
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S in biological field (biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, etc.) with a minimum of 4+ years relevant laboratory experience for Associate Scientist / Senior Research Associate; 2+ years relevant laboratory experience for Research Associate
- Hands-on experience (equipment and software) with flow cytometry (CytoFlex preferred), plate readers, and automated cell counters required
- Strong organizational, recording keeping, time management, and communication skills are required
- FlowJo analysis of cytometry data strongly preferred
- Previous exposure to analytical development and testing in an industrial (Pharma/Biotech) regulated (GxP) environment is strongly preferred
- Experience in cell therapy, immunology, or oncology is preferred
- Immunoassay and molecular biology experience (qPCR, ddPCR) is preferred
- Exposure to electronic notebooks (ELNs) a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Will require working with cell lines of human origin
- Ability to perform routine laboratory tasks
- 100% on-site work at corporate headquarters and research facilities in San Diego, CA
- Occasional evening and weekend work will be required
