Preclinical Research Associate

Neurona Therapeutics is a clinical stage biotechnology company based in South San Francisco, CA that was created to develop cell-based therapies for neurological disease. We have an opening for a Preclinical Research Associate who will contribute to ongoing programs and build new animal models to study modulation of neural circuits and support translational development of cellular therapeutics.

• Working with rodents including handling, dosing, surgical procedures and tissue collection
• Observation and scoring of behavioral assays
• Analysis of EEG (electroencephalography) for seizures
• Processing tissue for histology: Microtome and cryostat sectioning, staining,  immunohistochemistry, imaging and quantitative analysis
• Following experimental protocols and maintaining detailed and accurate records
• Analyzing data, interpreting and communicating results
• Conducting independent experiments and contributing to collaborative activities

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in biology, neuroscience, or a related field (or equivalent)
• Previous relevant lab experience and supporting references that includes working with animals
• Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to contribute to a team
• Clear, effective written and verbal communication
