JOB SUMMARY:   

 

Sangamo Therapeutics is seeking an experienced materials management specialist in the  GMP Warehouse organization, supporting the Brisbane clinical manufacturing facility. This position will have accountability for all GMP material functions for the GMP warehouse and staging space.  Initially, the position will serve as a subject matter expert in developing the needed internal business processes such as GMP material specifications, raw material process flows, shipping and receiving, packaging and labeling.   The position will work closely with the other Brisbane manufacturing user groups and management in support of meeting GMP readiness timelines and goals.  

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Serve as a SME for all GMP Warehouse related operational needs for the Brisbane as well as potentially future sites, including guiding operators on the floor for any assistance needed. 
  • Ensure dock coverage schedule is maintained.
  • Ensures all daily operations tasks are completed.
  • Audit GMP Warehouse activities in addition to GMP Warehouse lead investigator for deviations.
  • Lead a comprehensive GMP materials management system and strategy for the site including the supporting policies and procedures.
  • Ensure import/export compliance and regulations are followed. 
  • Ensure staff are certified in required programs including hazmat, forklift, and that staff are current with training requirements.
  • Maintain supply chain and inventory controls to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations. 
  • Partner with procurement and suppliers to create a flow process of materials into the warehouse, driving efficiency and effectiveness of receiving and inventory storage.
  • Ensure that appropriate training of all GMP warehouse personnel on equipment, process and facility safety procedures is maintained and up-to-date.
  • Support the GMP Warehouse functional budget to meet company goals and team objectives.
  • Ensure metrics are tracked/reported as needed.
  • Ensure all equipment is current on preventative maintenance and calibration.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Desirable:  Bachelor’s degree in scientific discipline.  Equivalent work experience also considered. 
  • 2 - 5 years minimum in a materials management role with experience supervising on floor operators  
  • Direct experience with shipments requiring critical cold chain constraints, materials, inventory control and warehousing & distribution.
  • General understanding of pharmaceutical supply chain including serialization.
  • Experience working in GxP pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology regulated environment required.
  • Experience in representing as SME and defending GxP systems in audit setting
  • Highly functional in a fast-paced dynamic company with ability to prioritize issues under differing pressures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills is a must.
  • Relevant legal standards and compliance systems.
  • Working knowledge of Quality Assurance (QA) and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) standards.
  • Demonstrated application of quality and efficiency improvement methods such as LEAN, Six Sigma.
  • Experienced working with contract service providers such as offsite warehouse and logistics.
  • Experience in working with electronic systems.   ERP, LIMS, CMMS, WMS

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Methodical and organized in delivery of objectives.
  • Forklift certified: Gas, LP-Gas, Diesel Trucks, electric sit-down rider, electric stand-up rider, Narrow Aisle Reach Truck, Reach Truck, Narrow Aisle Straddle truck, Sit Down Truck, Order selector truck, motorized hand truck.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems independently.
  • Normal vision and hearing levels; able to lift up to 30 pounds; able to occasionally sit, stand, bend, squat, kneel and reach above shoulders; will be routinely climbing stairs and or ladders.
  • Ability to work in Brisbane or Richmond facilities as needed.
  • Ability to be on call and cover other shifts as needed.
  • Work will be performed in an office, warehouse setting and in an environmentally controlled (clean) manufacturing area at the company’s location.
