What will I do?

Pfizer’s Pharmaceutical Marketing organization spans numerous therapeutic areas that are comprised of innovative and value driven businesses. Marketing colleagues are responsible for successfully positioning Pfizer’s product portfolio in the highly competitive pharmaceutical marketplace. Marketing efforts span the creation and refinement of disease-area strategies, new product planning, brand launch preparation and implementation, as well as the creation, refinement and evolution of brand positioning, messaging and promotional initiatives. Marketers initiate rigorous market and product research to assess the value proposition of a product for patients, prescribers, and payers prior to launch to determine how to optimally position the product in the market. After launch, product positioning is continually tailored in order to maximize the value for patients.

Pfizer is currently recruiting Pharmaceutical Marketing Summer Associates for the Marketing Rotational Program. As a Summer Associate, you will be integrated into a marketing team and be responsible for commercial project assignments in one or several areas relating to the pharmaceutical industry. Throughout the summer, you will have various opportunities to engage with your associate class, brand managers and senior leaders to network and leverage their knowledge. You will also be matched with a senior leader advisor, mentor and buddy to provide additional support over the summer. At the end of the summer, high performing Marketing Summer Associates will receive full-time offers for the Marketing Rotational Program. This is a 2-year development program for select colleagues to gain experience in distinct roles and projects across business units and marketing functions. This allows colleagues to quickly establish a broad foundation in pharmaceutical marketing fundamentals that allows for accelerated success and distinguishes them as high-potential future leaders at Pfizer.

Where will I focus?

  • US Marketing – Brand Strategy, Tactical Execution, Promotional Material Development,
  • Global Marketing – Global Brand Strategy, Product Launch, Above-Brand Strategy
  • Global Commercial Development – Early-Stage Global Brand Strategy, Lifecycle Planning

What do I need?

MBA Candidate with emphasis in Marketing, Healthcare Management and/or Strategy preferred. Three years full-time work experience required. Previous consulting, pharmaceutical, or healthcare experience desirable. Other key qualities for success in these positions include demonstrated ability to think strategically and problem solve, qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, ability to work in a team environment, willingness to take responsibility and initiative, and strong communication skills.

Students must be authorized to work on a full-time, permanent basis in the U.S.
