We have a full-time position available supporting our Quality Assurance team open in Lexington.  We are looking for a motivated person who is eager to learn and grow as a Quality Control Technician with our team.  In this role, you will perform special laboratory testing on proficiency samples, fungal serology, in vitro diagnostic test kits, and miscellaneous products for purposes of quality control.


Key responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Understanding and conducting microbiological testing for lyophilized bacterial samples that mimic clinical patient samples.
  • Completing quality control testing for general and specialty products.
  • Maintaining and cataloging bacterial cell banks.
  • Testing samples of prepared cultured media, stains & reagents, rapid test kits, lyophilized bacterial cultures, proficiency testing samples, and other manufactured products to verify conformity to specifications. Such task includes working with routine stock cultures, Microscan ID Systems, BD Affirm, Cepheid and other specialized instruments for product performance evaluation.
  • Setting up and performing studies on components or products to measure performance, shelf life, or product characteristics.
  • Conducting stability testing on samples for R&D projects as well as finished goods.
  • Setting up, adjusting and operating laboratory equipment and instruments including but not limited to a centrifuge, pH meter, spectrophotometer, and micropipettes. Performs performance checks on such equipment as required by Quality Systems.

Here is what we are looking for:


  • Four-year degree required in Microbiology, Medical Technology or similar related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of microbiology laboratory experience required
  • Experience working in the Medical Device industry a plus.
  • The ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination by date of hire to be considered. Proof of vaccination will be required upon hire.
