Company Summary:

Kriya is a next generation gene therapy company focused on expanding the field to new frontiers. We have built a fully integrated, technology enabled platform for rational vector design, analytical characterization, and scalable manufacturing to design and develop gene therapies for diseases with well-understood underlying biology. We believe that rationally engineered gene therapies can transform the treatment of a broad universe of diseases – and we are prepared to lead this revolution in medicine.

Our team is made up of leading scientific experts who are passionate about improving patients’ lives and easing the burden of these life-changing disorders for patients. We are looking for teammates with the ambition, creativity, and energy to help us build a unique organization.

If you are looking to be a part of a company with an entrepreneurial culture, a bold vision, and a meaningful purpose, Kriya is the company for you.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated research associate to support the development of high-throughput screening assays for AAV engineering. As part of the Technology Innovation group, you will work together in a small team environment to design, build, and optimize high-throughput in vitro and in vivo screening assays to evaluate properties of novel AAV constructs. You will obtain a strong foundation in assay development, become familiar with cutting-edge instrumentation for molecular and cellular analysis, and work collaboratively with high-throughput NGS data. This is a unique opportunity to gain broad experience in a startup environment and make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of high-throughput screening assays by performing activities that include cell culture, AAV vector purification, cell transfection and transduction, tissue processing, fluorescence microscopy, cell sorting, and/or NGS library prep
  • Assist in the design and execution of studies in a variety of in vitro and in vivo model systems
  • Collaborate with the team to interpret and present data
  • Effectively communicate internally through meetings, presentations, and publication efforts
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date laboratory records
  • Perform laboratory management tasks which may include supply and inventory management, cell line management, EH&S, and/or equipment maintenance (15% time)

  • Required Qualifications:

  • BS in molecular biology, biochemistry, genomics, virology, or a related field (3+ years of industry experience for senior level) or MS (2+ years of industry experience for senior level)
  • Experience with methods in molecular biology including cloning, PCR/qPCR, and nucleic acid extraction
  • Experience with methods in cell biology including mammalian cell culture, manipulation (transfection, differentiation) and characterization (microscopy, flow sorting)
  • Familiarity with complex cloning procedures for high-diversity variant libraries, vector production, NGs library preparation, and/or tissue processing a plus
  • Attention to detail and ability to conduct sensitive protocols consistently
  • Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Ability to maintain accurate and organized documentation of lab work and results
  •
