JOB SUMMARY

This position provides customer support, including training customers on technical specifications, installation, use of Binding Site equipment, and troubleshooting issues with the products.  This person will perform evaluations and validation studies for both current and potential customers.  They will also collaborate with the sales team on finalization of equipment purchases and development of leads for potential new clients. The individual will travel across an assigned territory to manage accounts, follow up on leads, and meet with current customers.

Assigned Territory : North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri

Ideal candidate will live in Minneapolis, Chicago, Milwaukee, or St. Louis 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs installations, training, and validations on Binding Site equipment and products. 
  • Performs validations on non-Company instruments. 
  • Provides telephone, virtual and on-site technical support for Binding Site instruments and assays.
  • Coordinates field service support with Field Service Engineers and Technical Service team.
  • Performs technical presentations to prospective customers or to Binding Site employees.
  • Participates in on-going sales training and development activities as needed. 
  • Maintains up-to-date technical expertise on our products, services offering and industry trends.
  • Scientific and technical support for our business development executives, directly shortening our sales cycle and impacting business growth.
  • Drives relationships and connects the sales team to key contacts in all market segments.
  • Attends occasional tradeshows to demonstrate and promote Company products.
  • Assists Account Executives and customers with writing protocols for Company and non-Company assays and performing work-flow analysis.
  • Maintains customer contact information and input cases into IFS.
  • Ensures correct documentation for product complaints.
  • Provides feedback on product performance with suggestions for product improvements and new product development.
  • Provides on-call support and/or after hours as required by the department, and at times other territories as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Estimated 60% field travel.
  • Ability to travel Monday through Friday and occasionally on weekends as needed and not be restricted from travel to Canada and UK.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a biological science, or equivalent required.
  • Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist preferred.
  • Minimum 1-year experience as a field application/technical specialist or similar role strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of previous experience as a Medical Technologist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, or similar role within a hospital, National, or academic lab.
  • Minimum 2 years’ instrumentation experience in a clinical laboratory or a diagnostic company required.
  • Ability to work independently and reliably with minimal supervision.
  • A keen interest in technology along with a high level of self-motivation and excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills and experience delivering scientific presentations.
  • Must have a service-minded attitude.
  • Must have good knowledge of computer hardware and software, including MS Office.
  • Must have good planning and customer relationship skills.
  • Must have a genuine empathy for the end users, strong communication skills, time management, and technical support abilities.
  • Knowledge of laboratory workflow and information systems.
  • Experience in molecular and microbiology techniques and assays.
  • Self-motivated, success oriented and demonstrated collaborative, customer focused approach, presenting a positive and professional experience for the customers.
  • Must be able to travel nationally and internationally. Requires flexibility in working hours.
  • Valid passport, Valid US Driver’s License required, good driving record is required.

· Employee will be required to talk and hear and have specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
