The Human Resources Talent and Diversity Partner reports to the North American Head of People, and partners with employees, Directors and VPs in recruiting, HR administration, and diversity focus for the US team.  This individual will also work closely with a Professional Employment Organization (PEO), which handles comprehensive programs including benefits, and partners on employee legal matters.

The position will require a mix of strategic leadership and tactical execution. This HR leader will support the executive team as we work to ensure that our team is built in a way that can support our planned growth over the next 3-5 years.  The role will have the opportunity to support the company’s growth and scalability by suggesting and leading initiatives in order to attract and retain the top talent needed to achieve our mission including competitive employee insights, diversity equity and inclusion tactics as well as working closely on the internal Dompé employee narrative.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING: MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Partner:

  • Collaborates with U.S. leadership and with HQ to lead and support the global employee trends and develop local / region strategies, including the development of DE&I training, KPI’s to monitor, ad-how employee resources to offer, and partners to execute strategies

  • Coordinate the organizations BIPOC focused internships, mentor opportunities, and quality of programming available.
  • Educates managers on legal practices, acceptable workplace behaviors and appropriate counseling methods.
  • Work closely with Sr. Director of HR, Compliance, and Legal for employee training on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Harrassment, Microaggressions, and the Discplinary policies within Dompé North America.
  • Provides guidance on effective methods of resolving employee unconscious bias, issues and makes recommendations utilizing the KPI’s and organizational people goals.
  • Continually assesses and addresses employee engagement and seeks to understand the changing needs of the organization relative to human resource, DE&I and accessibility related matters
  • Builds applicant sources and pipeline by researching recruiters, media, and internet sites relative to organizational DE&I & accessibility measureable KPI’s; ultimately builds rapport with prospective candidates to ensure bench is established to meet future hiring needs
  • Improves organization attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices relative to the diversity

Recruiting & Retention Talent:

  • Oversees the Company’s recruiting efforts based on organization plans and objectives
  • Partners with leadership team on creating JDs, tracking applicants to ensure a positive experience and establishing key competencies, goals and objectives for open requisitions
  • Determines applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; verifying references; comparing qualifications to job requirements.
  • Leads the smoother coordination of candidate interview process
  • Monitoring job offers and compensation practices; emphasizing benefits and perks
  • Avoids legal challenges by understanding current legislation; enforcing regulations with managers; recommending new procedures; conducting training
  • Collaborates with leadership in building out non-monetary reward programs to enhance retention and job satisfaction

 

People Compliance:

  • Maintains awareness of competitor activities, assess potential implications on our talent pipeline, and recommend action if necessary
  • Assists Leadership with developing, conducting, tracking, and/or evaluating training or professional development opportunities as requested
  • Partners with PEO to deliver critical training on Business Ethics, Cybersecurity Basics and Work Harassment Prevention for employees
  • Partners with corporate leadership to strategize on how best to leverage total rewards programs to meet organizational objectives, optimize our ability to attract and retain top talent
  • Maintains current knowledge of related government rules and regulations, in both the US and Canada 

HR Administration:

  • Provides support to employees with Human Resources questions or directs calls to the appropriate contact
  • Acts as point of contact for new employees regarding onboarding, orientation, and assimilation to policies and programs
  • Assists with off-boarding procedures

YOU COULD BE THE PERFECT FIT IF YOU HAVE:

  • Undergraduate degree required, in Human Resources or related field
  • MBA or other advanced degree highly preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in Human Resources is required, PHR a plus 
  • HR Diversity and/or recruiting experience in pharma or biotech is strongly preferred
  • Strong track record of success in pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry is preferred; experience in new product launches
  • Experience in “start-up” environments 
  • Self-starter who can thrive in a fast paced and challenging environment, who is able to effectively balance multiple priorities 
  • Demonstration of successful working relationships internally and with external stakeholders with Canadian pharma/biotech operations is a plus
  • Experience with Visas for non-U.S. citizens is a plus
  • Is open to and actively solicits feedback on performance and skill development needs
  • Demonstrates appreciation for diversity of perspectives and approaches among peers

SKILLS YOU’LL NEED FOR SUCCESS: TECHNICAL

  • Experience with HR information systems and applicant tracking systems
  • Solid understanding of employment law
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment and discretion in handling confidential information and situations
  • Strong PC skills
