What You Will Achieve
The Pricing, Tenders, & Contracting Solutions team manages technology strategy and delivery for Pfizer’s Commercial Business Units and Patient & Health Impact (PHI) organizations. Pricing & reimbursement strategies and managing revenue opportunities have never been more important for the pharmaceutical industry than they are today. Our Solutions delivery team plays a critical role in ensuring that patients receive breakthroughs that change their lives.
The Global Pricing Solutions Engineer will be accountable for the technology solution design and Agile delivery of Global Pricing Digital solutions/products. The role is business-facing, requiring interaction with customers located primarily in US/NY and Europe to understand requests/new solution demand and define user stories. Our customers are Pfizer Global Pricing & International Market Access business colleagues who drive pricing strategies & risk management across the enterprise. You will work across time zones as you interact with the business team, while managing 3rd party contractor Development resources located primarily offshore in India. As Solutions Engineer, you will also be hands-on and may write some source code, test, and implement some solutions.
The qualified candidate will work with exciting technologies such as Model N Global Price Management (Salesforce cloud), AI Predictive modeling tools (using Python, R, R-Shiny, MATLAB, Stata), Dashboards & KPI reporting (e.g. Tableau), and other pricing analytics leveraging both internal enterprise data and 3rd party data (e.g. IQVIA, IHS Markit, etc.) This Manager level position requires a seasoned software development professional with experience leading concurrent Agile solution delivery efforts across several solutions/products.
How You Will Achieve It
Responsible for design and delivery of critical customer facing solutions that optimize and improve operational processes in support of pricing governance, government transparency reporting, and overall decision support
Manage contractor resources to deliver innovative projects to drive pricing & market access insights using cutting edge analytics & modeling solutions
Define technical strategy & design principles for pricing & reimbursement dashboards using a variety of data sources to provide the business with the necessary decision-making insights (using Tableau and other toolsets)
Understand existing integration architecture & identify any new required data sources & systems
Partner with business & 3rd party vendors to enhance existing & develop new predictive modeling tools using Python, R, R-Shiny or other UI technologies
Regularly collaborate with the Global Pricing business team to assess needs/Epics/user stories, design proposals, and apply new technologies to implement optimal solutions
Accountable for managing full software delivery lifecycle efforts within approved annual budget- this includes soliciting project cost estimates/proposals, requesting Statements of Work (SOWs) and Purchase Order requests, and monitor delivery to plan/budget
Partner with the Production Support & Operations team to ensure all solutions have a long-term ongoing support model to manage incidents, upgrades, maintenance/enhancements, and release plans
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
5+ years of relevant technical experience with emphasis on solutions & application development, or systems engineering
Proven successful delivery of solutions and products using Agile software delivery including expertise with JIRA, Github and DevOps processes
Experience managing solution development resources (internal or external) and fostering teamwork across stakeholders- must be comfortable interacting with both technical and business resources
2+ years of experience in Analytics/Reporting, Oracle SQL server & other relational databases, and SharePoint
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written skills
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills
Ambition to learn with a continuous improvement and customer focused mindset
Strong knowledge of relational databases and object-oriented coding, storage, hosting, cloud
Experience with virtualization technologies (OpenStack/VMWare)
Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium, Java Testing, Python Unitest or Pytest
Experience with Salesforce applications and Apex
Advanced understanding of the following technologies:
RDBMS (e.g. Oracle, SQL server)
Analytics/visualization tools (Tableau)
ETL tools (Informatica, Infosphere)
