ROLE SUMMARY

The Sr. Manager, Executive Comms & Social Media Strategy, is responsible for developing and executing effective strategies, and creating engaging content, that position Pfizer’s CEO as a thought leader and raises awareness of the value that Pfizer’s science brings to patients. The Sr. Manager also helps support the social media presences of the executives leading seven Enabling Functions: Business Innovation, Compliance, Digital, Finance, Global Business Services, HR and Legal. The Sr. Manager reports to the VP, Executive Communications.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute an effective and creative social media strategy for Pfizer’s CEO.
  • Create engaging content for the CEO’s social media platforms and other digital initiatives.
  • Partner with members of the Executive Communications and Internal Communications teams to support the social media presences of the executives leading Pfizer’s Enabling Functions.
  • Provide counsel to these executives regarding the content they share on multiple platforms.
  • Contribute to the content calendar across Global Corporate Affairs.
  • Publish content using Pfizer’s existing enterprise systems like Sprinklr and Newscred.
  • Help manage a network of external writers, producers and graphic artists that contribute to Pfizer’s library of digital assets including, photos, video and infographics.
  • Work with assigned divisions to develop specific content plans to address key issues.
  • Serve as an educator of the function around the strategy, channels, new developments and best practices.
  • Maintain close relationships with members of the Corporate Reputation Group’s Content Lab to ensure consistency in messaging and effective reuse of content across channels.
  • Assist with production of the company’s Annual Review and develop and drive the social media strategy that promotes the review.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum required: Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in digital communications/social media content creation, corporate communications or public relations agency working in digital/social.
  • Experience in creating social, video and standard web content.
  • Excellent presentation skills and persuasiveness.
  • Ability to continuously develop innovative and creative strategies using new and evolving channels.
  • Demonstrated success in a fast-paced, high-exposure and highly collaborative environment.
  • Discipline in time management and precision in the execution of duties – from content creation to delivery – are especially important, given the largely deadline driven, highly visible nature of the work.
  • Commitment to editorial excellence.
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate with Corporate Affairs colleagues and business partners.
  • Knowledge/understanding of the challenges facing the biopharmaceutical industry, Pfizer and Pfizer’s Enabling Functions
