ROLE SUMMARY

This DP Operations Specialist role is defined as an on the floor/on the line working role. Colleagues serving in this role will be required to maintain their own Technician skills and Aseptic qualifications allowing them to be staffed to the production line regularly based on business needs. Incumbent will liaison between work team and maintenance for equipment troubleshooting and repairs. This role will also have focused responsibilities creating, implementing, and training area colleagues on Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) along with responsibilities supporting technical process & equipment training.

Will display continuous improvement mindset striving to provide process robustness and line efficiencies. Achieved by monitoring specific results from actions identified to address improvement opportunities utilizing IMEx principles. Maintain equipment at optimal operating efficiency including ownership of Operator Care.

What You Will Achieve

You will be responsible for generating work orders and ensuring that work is completed correctly in a timely manner. Your knowledge in the domain will help in providing detailed technical training to colleagues. You will support the work team operation to ensure that applicable safety guidelines/policies are followed, and that all tasks are conducted in accordance with appropriate processing standards, such as current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).

As part of the Technical Operations team, your prior work experience and ability to apply your breadth of knowledge will help you adapt the standard methods and procedures. You will help us identify required delivery and process improvements that drive increased efficiency, throughput and quality. You will arrive at decisions on which methods and procedures are the best fit for different work situations.   • Keep accurate records as needed for solution manufacture and prepare solutions as directed by work order.
  • Recognize when processes, procedures, equipment, product, commodities, etc. are out of specifications.
  • Check improper use or monitoring of equipment that may result in substantial downtime, equipment and material or product loss.
  • Support supervisor to execute investigations, analyze process data and identify and implement process improvements.
  • Prepare regular reports and metrics from Pfizer's Learning Solution and Quality Tracking System to identify training needs and progress with the unit.
  • Functional/Technical Knowledge:Limited knowledge of industry practices and standards. Proficient in computer applications such as MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Problem Solving and Innovation: Develop solutions to routine problems following established Pfizer policies and procedures.
  • Discretion, Latitude, Level of Independence: Ability to work independently. Follows specific, detailed instructions.
  • Impact and Organizational Contribution: Contributes to the completion of routine tasks. Failure to achieve results will have significant impact on departmental objectives.
  • Time Span of Work: Daily tasks and deliverables. Results can usually be measured on daily or weekly basis.
  • As directed by supervision, the Operations Specialist may be responsible for day to day floor operations, daily line assignments, serving as person in charge in the absence of a Production Lead and/or Supervisor, attending scheduling meetings, filling out the daily shift report. Work responsibilities will require entry into the aseptic area and will include aseptic gowning requirements

Qualifications Must-Have
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 4+ years of experience as Operations Technician
  • 6+ years of Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs)
  • Demonstrated good oral and written communication skills
Nice-to-Have
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Physical Demands: Job tasks may include frequent bending, lifting, and twisting motions. Ability to stand upright for several consecutive hours. Absence of any medical restrictions which could restrict completion of all required duties. Additional demands are area specific.
  • Work Environment: Colleague must work near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to airborne particles which require appropriate safety protection, noise levels may require protective hearing devices, eye protection required. Practices and promotes safe working environmental at all times. Area specific gowning will be required. Aseptic gowning is required for work responsibilities within the aseptic area.
  • Language Skills: Effective written and oral communication skills required. Demonstrated reading comprehension and writing proficiency at level that meets Job Summary requirements. Ability to effectively communicate with diverse individuals/groups resulting in desired outcomes.
  • Mathematical Skills: Strong math skills with the ability to calculate percentages and develop basic graphs and spreadsheets.
  • Reasoning Ability: Skill in analyzing information, problems, situations, practices or procedures to: Define the problem or objective; Identify relevant concerns or factors; Identify patterns, tendencies and relationships; Formulate logical andobjective conclusions; and, Recognize alternatives and their implications.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as necessary. Operations Specialist will be required to work A/B weekends, support the day to day floor operations, daily line assignments including frequently staffed to a line as a Technician as needed, serving as person in charge in the absence of a Production Lead and/or Supervisor, attending shift handoff meetings and filling out the daily shift report.Work requirements will include adherence to aseptic gowning procedures and work practices in the aseptic processing area.
