Strategic Planning & Operations Sr Manager

Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role, you will provide strategic and operational support for the VP/ Therapeutic Area Head of Inflammation including planning, communications, project management and implementation of functional projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport for therapeutic area leadership through problem tracking and solving, organizational management, and presentation development.
Identify and drive resolution of issues within the therapeutic area and at interfaces to other R&D functions, other geographic regions and the Commercial organization.
Enable resources to provide meeting logistical support and facilitation of the Therapeutic Area Technical Review Committee (TA-TRC) governance committee meetings.
Lead and facilitate key departmental meetings (All Staff, Senior Leadership Teams, Program Development Strategy Teams).
Facilitate therapeutic area goal setting and run against progress.
Act as a sounding board/advisor to the Therapeutic Area Head on key activities and issues.
Represent business strategy and guide the activities of other functions such as Human Resources, Finance, and Corporate Communications in support of therapeutic area objectives.
Development and performance of therapeutic area communications.
Handle therapeutic area headcount through structured meetings to review openings, provide departmental consistency, and support HR activity.
Develop and lead functional budget and resource planning and tracking in alignment with the global budget process.
Support cross-functional business initiatives as assigned.
Ensure staff compliance with Amgen corporate and departmental training and SOP review.
Contribute and supportthe development of relevant policies, SOPs and associated documents.
Identify training, mentoring plans, and onboarding development needs for staff and assist in developing the talent pool.

Basic Qualifications
Doctorate degree and 2 years of related experience Or
Masters degree and 4 years of related experience Or
Bachelors degree and 6 years of related experience Or
Associates degree and 10 years of related experience Or
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Masters in Business Administration
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills and experience in facilitating workshops and group meetings.
Good understanding of Microsoft Office applications, MSTeams, Miro Boards, , Box, and tools for data synthesis, eg Excel.
High self-confidence, self-motivation, strong critical and analytical thinking skills.
Shown success in Change Management
Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment with little oversight and has outstanding time management and self-prioritization skills
Financial budgeting and variance reporting experience
Good understanding of success in a matrix environment
Ability to engage different personalities and levels within the organization, particularly senior and executive management
Ability to influence, negotiate, and resolve conflict
Good knowledge of clinical development and drug development
