In this vital role you will a be part of Amgens industry postdoc center of excellence initiative located at our research site in South San Francisco, California, and train under Dr. Saptarsi Haldar, VP, Research, Cardiometabolic Disorders, and Dr. Menno van Lookeren Campagne, VP, Research, Inflammation, amongst other leading scientists in these fields. We are seeking a small number of highly motivated postdoctoral fellows to perform independent research projects as part of a core team of cross-functional scientists and critical thinkers, passionate about the theme of inflammation, metabolism and chronic disease. The positions are for 2-4 years. Successful candidates will have access to Amgens cutting-edge technologies and innovation and be encouraged to make exciting scientific contributions to the field, present at scientific conferences and publish their work. An overwhelming majority of our postdocs go on to advance their careers in industry at leading pharma and biotech companies, including Amgen.

What we expect of you

We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The Postdoctoral Fellow we seek is an individual with these qualifications.

Basic Qualifications:

  • PhD in immunology, cell biology or molecular biology at the time of appointment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical proficiency in multi-color flow cytometry, characterizing immune responses in vivo models, and in vitro functional assay development
  • Independent research skills in designing and executing experiments, and analyzing and interpreting data
  • Authorship in manuscript submitted to or published in peer-review journals
  • Additional technical proficiency or knowledge in one or more of the following: CRISPR/CAS9 technologies, omics data acquisition and analysis, cell signaling/biochemistry, and/or metabolic pathway
