Job Details

Viral Vector Technologies (VVT) is a technology development group at Regeneron focused on the production, engineering, and characterization of next generation gene therapies through the manipulation of viral vectors. We are seeking a candidate to support these efforts primarily through:

1.     High-throughput in vitro screens

2.     In vitro function assays

3.     Nucleic acid manipulation and sequence analysis

4.     Tissue culture production and processing of viral vectors

As an R&D Associate in VVT, a typical day may include the following:

-  Basic molecular biology assays (cloning, PCR [end point, RT-PCR, Q-PCR, dPCR, ddPCR], electrophoresis).

-  Mammalian cell culture, maintenance, & common associated manipulations (transfection, transduction).

- Manage and organize large quantities of tissue culture plates

- Produce, purify, quantify, and characterize viral vectors

- Develop new assays to characterize and assess viral vectors

- Evaluate in vitro virus transduction and transgene expression

- Perform basic biochemical/immunological assays (protein gels, ELISA, flow cytometry)

-  Collaboration with associates and scientists both within VVT and in other groups.

-  Analysis & presentation of data in a team-based environment.

-  Maintenance of lab supplies and organization.

-  Staying abreast of the most current relevant literature.

To be considered for this role, you must have (at minimum) a B.A./B.S. and relevant industry or academic experience. Experience working with mammalian cell culture. Familiarity with molecular biology techniques, protein expression assay, and manipulation and purification of viruses in BSL2 conditions is desirable. You should be familiar with software and programs associated with job functions, including Microsoft Office, Prism, DNA analysis software (Macvector, APE, Benchling, etc…), and publicly available online resources (UCSC Genome Browser, OMIM, UniProt, etc…) is desirable. We are willing to teach where necessary. Maintenance of accurate, up-to-date electronic lab records are required.
