ROLE SUMMARY

It is an exciting time to be in the North America Vaccines group with multiple upcoming launches that are part of Pfizer’s 25 Breakthroughs by 2025. These new products will expand our Pfizer portfolio beyond our traditional Prevnar and Trumenba brands to protect more babies, adolescents & adults as well as better meet customer needs.

Pfizer’s pediatric pneumococcal next-generation vaccine, Prevnar 20, is currently in phase 3 clinical development. This vaccine expands serotype coverage from 13 to 20 and aims to further protect children from serious pneumococcal disease. This next-generation vaccine represents a potential “blockbuster” for the U.S. market upon launch, which is expected in mid-2023.

The U.S. Prevnar 20 Pediatric Senior Manager is a mission-critical role responsible for launch preparations for Prevnar 20 Pediatric. This role represents a unique opportunity to work across HCP and Payer & Access marketing. The person in this role works extensively on a daily basis with the Prevnar 20 Pediatric HCP Lead and the Senior Director, Prevnar 20 Pediatric.

This individual will lead the development and execution of HCP launch tactics for the pre and post-launch phases of the brand. This work will span HCP launch efforts and competitive strategy for the brand, working collaboratively with relevant U.S. and Global stakeholders to drive preference vs. competition and build effective campaigns. The candidate will also help set and execute the vision for digital transformation to effectively reach customers, and drive planning and cross-functional collaboration to achieve desired outcomes.

In addition, the Senior Manager will support the Pediatric & Adolescent Vaccines Portfolio Payer & Access Lead, partnering closely with the U.S. Market Access and Vaccines Account Management teams on Prevnar 20 Pediatric initiatives.

The candidate needs to demonstrate the ability to engage people, lead within a highly matrixed structure, have excellent communication skills, have high learning agility, and be able to work seamlessly with the global marketing team in preparation for launch.

This role requires strong strategic, communication, and analytical thinking as well as creativity, prioritization skills, and an ability to inspire and partner with external and internal stakeholders.

Primary responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

HCP Strategy & Tactics:

  • In collaboration with the HCP lead, own the development and execution of the Prevnar 20 HCP strategy and tactical plan
  • Drive the pull-through of HCP tactics for the launch of Prevnar 20 Pediatric such as communication of new scientific information and emphasizing the value of Prevnar 20 vs. previously launched a new competitor
  • Develop and deliver marketing solutions that differentiate Prevnar 20 Pediatric with HCPs through innovative digital engagement.
  • Develop an effective strategy to transition customers from Prevnar 13 or competitors to Prevnar 20.
  • Expand vaccine confidence efforts with HCPs to help foster vaccine initiation and adherence.
  • Engage with sales and account management leads to solicit insights, provide solutions, drive utilization of materials, and ensure programs and resources are of value to and empower customer-facing colleagues.
  • Develop training resources for use within the Vaccines Academy platform and ensure CFCs are appropriately prepared to drive business and are empowered to defend against competition.
  • Work closely with the HCP Lead as well as the ‘Pursuing Public Excellence’ team and Public Champions to create solutions (materials, training, etc.) that support public accounts like FQHCs, as well as customer facing colleagues to address the public vaccines disparity gap specific to Prevnar 20 Pediatric. Partner with Prevnar 13 Pediatric Sr. Mgr. to understand current efforts in this space, identify areas of opportunity, and appropriately apply learnings to the future Prevnar 20 platform.
  • Collaborate with the creative agency and manage the respective promotional budget for tactics owned; manage trade-offs across the brand team’s advertising and promotion.
  • Lead/assist with other critical responsibilities/business planning deliverables as needed– e.g. leadership reports, presentations, brand metrics

Access Strategy & Tactics Support:

  • Support Pediatric & Adolescent Vaccines Portfolio Payer & Access Lead, partnering closely with US Market Access and Vaccines Account Management teams on Prevnar 20 Pediatric initiatives:
  • Manage projects and agencies conducting payer market research and developing payer marketing materials, including for Integrated Delivery Network (IDN) and Physician Buying Group (PBG) Decision-Makers.
  • Develop and implement customer-facing colleague access materials and related training materials.
  • Adapt Reminder Recall materials to customer needs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years experience in the U.S. pharmaceutical industry
  • Previous marketing experience required
  • Ability to work independently across stakeholders and demonstrates judgment of what needs to be escalated
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (oral and written)
  • Robust analytical/planning skills and ability to multi-task under pressure
  • Self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity
  • Solid understanding of today’s U.S. pharmaceutical environment, incl. Regulatory, Legal, and Compliance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Vaccines experience
  • MBA, MPH, or similar
  • U.S. launch experience
