Our Commercial department located in our Monmouth Junction, NJ headquarters has an immediate need for an experienced Commercial Insights strategist at Ex Director or Vice President level.  Job title and level determination will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities include: directing and overseeing the strategic imperatives and tactical execution of advanced analytics, market research, data management and reporting and sales operations for a small analytics team. Collaborating closely with other senior leaders to advance commercial objectives, the incumbent proactively identifies areas of portfolio/brand strength and weakness to ensure that the commercial organization is equipped to make data informed decisions. Additional responsibilities include the identification of additional opportunities for growth, forecasting and assessing the impact of current investments. 

• Leads and organizes a lean but strong team of operations/analytics professionals to deliver excellence in data management, sales force reporting and sales Incentive Compensation (IC)/analytics

• Provides management oversight of employees, department initiatives and vendors to ensure relevancy, accuracy and timeliness of deliverables 

• Analyzes key market data to understand how to best optimize the deployment and alignment of the sales force and market access teams

• Leads customer segmentation analysis and coordinates call plan development and roll-out

• Implements and manages IC program in accordance with corporate policy; Establishes a management control policy and ensures accurate and timely communication to the field and various internal departments

• Works closely with Marketing to establish and track key performance indicators to optimize demand generation programs and inform investment decisions

• IDs/deploys additional field resources and requirements including, but not limited to: sales analysis tools, reporting, field technology and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) reporting tools, etc. as needed

• Analyzes contracting and pricing strategies and provides recommendations to management

• Develops strategy with Information Technology (IT) and Data Operations departments to ensure quality assurance and maintain data warehouse; Supports recommendations for current and future data sourcing from business partners

• Institutes processes for data and reporting governance of ad-hoc field-based inquiries from the executive team and other commercial functions

• Strictly adheres to ethical practices; develops, implements and follows high standards of research and corporate conduct

Requirements

  

QUALIFICATIONS 

Bachelors degree AND minimum 10 years analytics experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry in positions of increasing strategic and leadership responsibility REQUIRED. 

Special knowledge or skills needed and/or licenses or certificates REQUIRED

• Hands on, working knowledge of multiple aspects of sales operations and analytics including, but not limited to: field-based team strategy/performance/data analytics, sales force deployment, customer targeting/segmentation, call planning and/or CRM, etc. REQUIRED

• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical payer dynamics, including commercial PBMs, Medicaid, Medicare Part D, Medicare / medical insurers, hospitals, ACOs and IDNs REQUIRED

• Excellent conceptual thinking (i.e., ability to analyze large amounts of information and extract insights) REQUIRED

• People management experience REQUIRED 

• Ability to influence without direct authority REQUIRED
