ROLE SUMMARY

The Senior Manager of Master Data & Business systems role will lead a team responsible for delivering core data services and systems. These services include data stewardship, data governance, quality monitoring, remediation and process enablement.

This position is responsible for strategy and vision to establish the processes, policies and capabilities for the site in both the current master data environment and future state data environment. This position is part of the Supply Chain Operations (SCO) and reports directly to the product supply director.

  • This role’s initial focus will be BOM’s, Recipes and Material master data, ensuring we have high quality and trusted information to support our transactional and analytic environments. Along with Master data stewardship and governance, provides primary level support to Planning, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Quality and Manufacturing Operations at the site. Drives any future site system implementations or upgrades to ensure smooth business adoption and acts as cultural change agent.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Manager for Master Data and Business systems is responsible for the following:

Data Stewardship and Governance: Responsible for the disciplined execution of stewardship & governance programs and practices across all master data- Materials master data, APO Planning master data, Production master data (BOM’s, Recipes, Productions versions) and Packaging Artwork/ specifications along with the serialization.

  • ​Applies knowledge and ability to define and/or operate against the vision/strategy of data and governance
  • Master data support, maintenance and implementation of changes following the appropriate documentation in compliance with cGMP.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of data governance modeling, tools, and practices
  • Identifies and manages data quality in alignment with the needs of the business
  • Ensures complete protection of data with all policies as it relates to visibility and distribution
  • Identifies and communicates insights and potential upstream/downstream impacts and opportunities to site leadership
  • Exemplifies effective communication and change management skills to varying audiences

Business Systems Support: Responsible for Operations and SCO Systems (JDE / SAP/ AMPS/Batch Navigator) to provide the optimal business solutions

  • Lead and align with both site and above site initiatives related to core system optimization and data maintenance
  • Analyze various drivers impacting key metrics and outcomes to provide fact-based recommendations to key stakeholders
  • Support the IMEX deployment as Process technologist by providing the system care support and metrics
  • Active in reviewing SAP/JDE and AMPS configurations and business processes to drive both system and process efficiency improvements.
  • Identify subject matter experts (SME), coordinate requirements gathering and facilitate system training when system changes are made.
  • Work closely with site Business Technology (BT) to manage system changes through document review and global change record (GCR) review and approval; develop system strategy plans and goals, assuring business needs are met.

Accountabilities

  • Establish and rollout a site-wide master data governance framework, with a focus on improving data quality & creating/upgrading existing organizational policies and standards, governance metrics, processes, & related tools
  • Lead system requirements, data standards, and resource allocation for the preparation and integration of systems for master data
  • Train and support on Master Data tools, process optimization, and standardizing Master Data cross-functional data flows
  • Implement data management program enabling them to manage master data efficiently with high quality
  • Oversee the day to day operations of the team & engaging with other business partners to adhere to and maintain the master data governance processes
  • Define data management metrics, reporting protocols, and action plans
  • Lead data migration activities including but not limited to data cleansing, data creation, data conversion, issue resolution, and data validation
  • Execute talent development including goal setting, performance reviews, merit planning, recognition, and career development for all direct reports

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Master’s/ Bachelor’s in business (Integrated Supply Management) or related Business / Technical / Science field required.

  • Minimum of seven years related experience in the pharmaceutical or fine chemical industry

  • Minimum of three years in supervisory/leadership capacity

  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

Additional required competencies include business systems subject knowledge; strategic thinking and problem solving; strong business acumen; change agent; innovative thinker, organizational knowledge/agility; experience with Lean/Operational Excellence tools and driving process efficiencies; ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Functional/Technical Knowledge: Applies extensive technical and industry-specific expertise, and has full knowledge of the requirements of other related disciplines. Demonstrated skills in leading, planning, and developing successful business processes/business units.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Office work environment. Use of hearing and eye protection is required when in designated manufacturing environment.
