Job Details

Waters is seeking a Sr Financial Analyst to join the team at the Milford HQ campus.  This role is ideal for a highly motivated self starter who is accountable, focused and results driven.  The position will support the R&D functions of the Instrument Development group.  This role is a mix of accounting, business partnering and analytics.  In this fast paced environment, the successful candidate will work closely with R&D and the Project Managers to help deliver new products on time and within budget.  This role offers an opportunity to grow your career and contribute to the success of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute all month end closing activities including journal entries, variance analysis, reconciliations and management reporting with adherence to the deadlines and General Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Manage project capital, inventory and operating expenses including forecasting, budgeting and ROI analysis when required. 
  • Provide business support to Instrument Product Development and assist the operational managers understand their effectiveness through detailed monitoring of expenses.
  • Foster business partnerships through the generation and presentation of monthly and quarterly reports that help the operational directors better understand their business.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed including evaluating and advising on investment decisions.
  • Work independently as a fully contributing member of a multi-locational team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or a related finance field of study.
  • 5 years + related work experience with a working knowledge of accounting principles, concepts, practices and standards.
  • Ability to work closely in a fast-paced team environment with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and continual process improvement.
  • Position requires strong organizational skill, accountability, time management, attention to detail and a commitment to quality output
  • Ability to work with multiple departments and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Capable of starting and completing projects in a timely manner.
  • Strong communication, analytical, Excel and data management skills are required. 
  • Experience with SAP/Analysis/BPC is an advantage.
  • Accounting experience within R&D or Manufacturing environments is a plus
