Job Details

Privacy Attorney will report to and assist the Chief Privacy Officer to enable compliance with applicable privacy laws and regulations, with an additional focus on APEC member countries. Specifically, this role will be responsible for advising on global privacy law, developing and implementing compliance solutions and promoting Regeneron’s Data Privacy Program. 


A typical day might include the following:  

  • Working closely with the Chief Privacy Officer and other individuals with privacy and data handling responsibilities across Regeneron to build strategies and develop global and regional approaches to complex privacy matters.
  • Developing, presenting, and implementing solutions that drive compliance with an understanding of business capabilities.
  • Providing legal privacy guidance and implementing the Regeneron Data Privacy Program in Regeneron APEC country operations and impacted business units.
  • Developing and managing comprehensive multi-phase project plans that address required actions, accountability and delivery milestones.
  • Working to ensure awareness of "best practices" on data protection practices. Proactively managing risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies, ensuring that these are identified, mitigated or escalated as necessary.
  • Partnering with Information Security in the investigation of unauthorized access, loss or disclosure of personal data, and handling legal analysis to determine if notification and other actions are required.
  • Managing Privacy Office tools, creating process workflows, documentation and presentation decks for different audiences.
  • Partnering with Privacy Steward in conducting first level privacy impact and data protection impact assessments on existing and new processing activities of personal data and update data flow maps as needed.
  • Monitoring changes in APEC country privacy laws, regulatory & standards environment and monitor advancements in information privacy technologies to ensure organizational awareness, adaptation and compliance, as needed.

  • You posses excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate to a diverse audience at multiple levels within the company.

To be considered for this position you must possess a BA/BS and JD with excellent law school credentials. lAPP CIPP Certifications required. At least 6 years’ experience as a privacy attorney also required. In-depth knowledge of APEC member country and global data privacy laws and its application to the pharmaceutical industry. Experience in contract drafting/review and third-party negotiating skills.
