How you will Achieve More with Intellia:

In this role, you will join the LNP Process Sciences group, where we develop lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations to deliver curative CRISPR gene editing therapeutics. This role is a leadership role: you will be responsible for overseeing late-stage development of CRISPR/Cas9 LNP drug products. This will entail work across multiple functions and program teams to develop and employ our late-stage development strategy, communicate and oversee external CMOs during process start up, process validation, and clinical manufacturing. You will oversee a team of process engineers dedicated to this task and work. This role will also allow you to design the next generation of scale-up and process equipment that may be used in current processes and scales as well as beyond. This role presents a unique opportunity to lead the efforts of bringing curative gene editing therapies to patients who need them.

About You:

We are seeking a highly motivated Principal Process Engineer with strong leadership skills and experience in drug product development. Our ideal candidate will have a M.S. in Chemical or Biomedical Engineering, with 11+ years of industry experience or a PhD in Chemical or Biomedical Engineering, with 5+ years of industry experience.   • Experience leading teams in late stage drug product development
  • Experience in scale-up, process development, process robustness, and process validation.
  • Experience with leading and driving interactions with external CMOs
  • Experience with phase appropriate GMP manufacturing and processes
  • Preferably has experience leading and managing junior engineers
  • Preferably has prior experience with LNP formulations with nucleic acids or complex
  • Preferably has prior experience working with a frozen or lyophilized particle-based drug product.
  • Preferably has experience with Container Closure Integrity Testing and understanding of CCI principles
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and a self-starter who continuously seeks to improve existing infrastructure and workstreams.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
