MISSION OF THE POSITION

The Analytical Product Characterization Research Associate will support the Analytical Sciences department at iBio. This position will report to the Analytical Product Characterization Scientist and work with a team to assist in analytical method development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC,) capillary electrophoresis-mass spectrometry (CE-MS,) and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS)
  • Sample and prepare reagents
  • Routine analysis for standards and samples
  • Participate in analytical method development
  • Record original data and keep an up-to-date lab notebook
  • Assist with internal and client technical information reports
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance of analytical instruments
  • Assist with maintaining the general lab area
  • Assist with the purchase requisition process
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge with analytical instruments such as high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), capillary electrophoresis-mass spectrometry (CE-MS) and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS)
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Ability to focus on task at hand and quickly switch between tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Associates degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry or related field from two-year college or technical school required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • At least one year of lab related experience in biopharmaceutical industry strongly preferred
  • Practical experience with accurate solution preparation and handling of small sample volumes
