Summary Description 

We are currently seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, and experienced individual for the position of Director, Business Analytics & Insights – Oncology Lead located remotely.  

This position will report to the Senior Director, Business Analytics & Insights. This role is reserved for candidates with prior experience leading analytical groups, with effective communication and interpersonal skills. This is a leadership role accountable for generating actionable insights that materially impact the business. A strong foundation of primary market research skills, secondary data analysis proficiency, and business and clinical acumen are necessary. One will be successful in this role by combining these skills with the ability to effectively communicate, collaborate and influence strategy and decision-making in support of Myovant’s Senior Leadership, the Therapeutic Area’s General Manager, and Brand Leadership. 

In this role as the BA&I,  Oncology Lead, he/she will have oversight of primary market research, competitive intelligence, and secondary analytics in support of Orgovyx. There is direct managerial responsibility, but also a requirement for broader leadership to synthesize analyses to inform strategy. The BA&I.  Oncology Lead will serve up a unified analytical voice to drive portfolio and brand strategy and performance, uncovering deep customer insights and driving improved decision-making and business impact.  

Further, this is a highly consultative role, requiring strong leadership, strategic thinking, communication excellence and a results-oriented mindset. This person will be responsible for the establishment and maintenance of relationships with multiple stakeholders as a trusted advisor to ensure that business decisions are based on evidence derived from rigorous Insights and agnostic of data source. The individual will work with internal teams (e.g. Marketing, Sales, Sales Operations, Advanced Analytics and Market Access) as well as with Myovant leadership and external partners.  


Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Provide strategic/leadership direction and subject matter expertise to the Oncology Business Unit to support data driven business decisions for the following: 
  • Analytics & Reporting – includes all Market and Data analytics based on alignment with key business priorities. KPI development and performance tracking for the brand, including brand equity and quantitative tracking. Monitoring brand health clearly and partnering with the performance analytics team to quickly diagnose brand performance and impact tactical plans to drive greater business results. post launch. Additionally, responsible for rapid, high-quality turnaround on ad-hoc business analytics requests for Executive Leadership and other stakeholders
  • Market Research & Competitive Intelligence – including strategy and execution of primary (qualitative  and quantitative) market research studies, and competitive intelligence surveillance. Connect market research and secondary data analytics, including advanced analytics (in partnership with the Advanced Analytics CoE) to tell a compelling and persuasive story that delivers clear and actionable 
  • Manages, develops and leads the Business Analytics & Insights Team – Oncology (2 direct reports) to high levels of performance providing direction, root cause problem solving and critical thinking. Identifies and oversees implementation of efficiencies involving group deliverables, tools and working procedures using continuous improvement methods
  • Work with TA General Manager to create clear, reliable, and impactful “talking points” for both internal & external communications – including preparation for all analyst meetings & conferences, QBRs, and BoD meetings
  • Forge strategic partnerships with internal and external customers, vendors and extended team members; aligns with Commercial Operations, Advanced Analytics, and External Partners regarding data availability and quality for analytics
  • Independently manage budget, ensuring appropriate staffing and coordinating projects within the area
  • Aid in Building a Best-in-Class Business Insights & Analytics team and ensuring best practice approaches are always utilized with diligent attention toward policies and best practices (e.g. Drug Safety reporting, knowledge management/retention, CI guidelines, etc.)

 Requirements (Education and Experience) 

  • Bachelor of Science/ Bachelor of Arts in a relevant scientific discipline; Advanced degree preferred 
  • 12 -15 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 10-13 years of experience with a master's degree in a related field of study
  • Minimum 12+ years of relevant analytical experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry, including in depth experience in building and implementing measurable successful strategies across commercial functions 
  • 5+ years' experience utilizing a range of analytics involving standard data in the Pharmaceutical Industry e.g., Symphony, IQVIA,SP Contracted data, epidemiological data, etc. 
  • Exceptional business acumen, strategic thinking, understanding of sales and marketing business practices and experience advising senior leadership with ability to influence laterally and vertically
  • Proven ability to lead teams, influence cross-functionally and manage multiple, complex demands. Previous experience managing analytical staff 
  • Entrepreneurial mindset to impact leadership and high emotional intelligence 
  • Strong understanding of primary market research, advanced analytics, and competitive intelligence 
  • Ability to identify and understand consumer preferences, demographics, and buying patterns, and integrate this information to create value-added marketing programs 
  • High degree of creativity and innovation in developing novel approaches, processes, and methodologies 
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects that affect different departments 
  • Strong written and verbal communication
