Principal Investigator/Research Fellow/Director – DMPK
Arcus Biosciences is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) Department. The successful applicant will be a key member of our multi-disciplinary project teams and will be responsible for leading effective DMPK support to the discovery and development of novel immunotherapy drug candidates.
Title will be commensurate with experience.
Core responsibilities:
- Develop DMPK strategy and drive its execution in support of Discovery and Clinical Development milestones
- Represent DMPK in Discovery and Development project teams
- Identify and address critical ADME-centric issues
- Provide guidance to Medicinal Chemistry on lead optimization
- Collaborate with Biology and Translational Sciences to define PK/PD relationships
- Select and characterize clinical development candidates with appropriate ADME properties
- Oversee DMPK studies in support of clinical development
- Author and review nonclinical PK sections and study reports for regulatory submissions
- Manage and/or mentor scientists and research associates
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. degree in pharmacokinetics, pharmaceutical sciences, or related discipline with 6+ years of industrial experience
- In-depth understanding of DMPK principles and demonstrated ability to integrate information, from both literature and internal research, for addressing ADME-related issues
- Experience supporting the discovery and development of drug candidates as a DMPK representative gained in an appropriate industrial environment
- Experience in the preparation of regulatory documents and familiarity with DMPK-related regulatory guidance
- An established track record as a highly collaborative team player who works effectively on cross-functional project teams and builds strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Strong work ethic and organizational skills
- Experience managing and mentoring junior scientists and research associates
