Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role you will join the multi-site Research & Development Informatics organization at its main headquarters in Thousand Oaks, CA. The Technical Product Manager will join the Global Development Operations Digital, Technology & Innovation team (GDO-DTI). The GDO-DTI team manages applications and systems used by Global Development Operations from Clinical Trial Design through Study Start Up and Study Conduct and Close Out. Because Clinical Development is flexible and adaptive, this team succeeds by embracing a high-degree of collaboration, open communication, comprehensive analysis, and agile decision-making.

The Technical Product Manager will contribute to the success of business outcomes by making fundamental improvements in how data and information is managed, business processes are operated, physical work flow is directed to efficiently achieve the integration and orchestration of all activities required for product development. You will work closely with business partners within Global Development Operations and DTI colleagues to develop, implement and advance technical solutions to support Global Development Operations. With Business and Digital, Technology & Innovation strategy in mind, the Product Manager will lead, maintain, and drive digital innovation for Amgens Clinical Data Management System and other key systems in support of this critical function.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Drive user story definition, features, and functions required to deliver against business outcomes
  • Partnering with business counterparts to identify strategic and critical business outcomes and to design flexible system roadmaps to enable the capabilities
  • Assemble, analyze, and represent business requirements through active partnership with Key GDO CSAR and GDO DM Business Stakeholders
  • Leading all aspects of project delivery and ensuring alignment to Information Systems Standard Operating Procedures and Amgen policies
  • Developing business cases to communicate and request funds for digital innovation opportunities, including the scope, timeline, and resources vital to achieving successful outcomes
  • Being the GDO DTI point of escalation for Amgen business critical IT issues impacting the GDO Clinical Data Management systems
  • Leading multi-functional teams comprising of business process owners, DTI staff, and external partners to evaluate, identify and develop solutions using the newest technologies to advance GDO Clinical Data Management
  • Handling the successful delivery of projects and programs with appropriate planning, financial, resource, vendor and risk management, using agile approaches to maintain a healthy balance of scope, resources, quality, and timelines
  • Working globally with multiple DTI and business stakeholders both internal to external to facilitate implementation of region-specific regulations.
Travel:

Domestic travel up to 15% may be necessary

This position is open to remote workers within United States, and remote workers may expect travel requirements up to 25%

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

Or

Masters degree and 2 years of Information Systems and/or Business Analysis and/or Project Management experience

Or

Bachelors degree and 4 years of Information Systems and/or Business Analysis and/or Project Management experience

Or

Associates degree and 10 years of Information Systems and/or Business Analysis and/or Project Management experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems and/or Business Analysis and/or Project Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to work with computer systems from inception to deployment to maintenance.
  • Solid foundation of developing Requirements Specifications, Design Specifications, testing/validation plans, and be able to execute accordingly.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to set the context and present on complex subjects to senior management in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong business insight with the ability to understand complex business processes
  • Experience driving business process design to align with digital/software solutions and drive successful outcomes
  • Strong leadership, project management, and organizational change skills.
  • Highly analytical with attention to detail
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum and working in Product Team
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate/lead multiple projects/activities running simultaneously
  • Experience with cloud and data lake technologies
  • Experience managing applications enabled by Salesforce
  • Experience with Reporting tools such as Spotfire
