JOB SUMMARY 
The Senior Manager, Process Engineering leads a team of engineers that executes process design engineering activities for site capital and operational improvement projects at the Canton site. This position requires the participation in development of concept, design and fabrication, commissioning, and qualification of process systems and equipment in a GMP environment. This position is also a participant with the Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) team in the development and/or technology transfer of new solutions and modifications to our existing manufacturing process systems while adhering to established regulatory compliance requirements. This role is responsible for driving and developing appropriate solutions to satisfy the needs of internal stakeholders in accordance with company guidelines and procedures, and within budget and schedule commitments. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for providing leadership and development to the Process Engineering Team. In addition, it will be essential to provide engineering support for multiple projects and assisting with production floor equipment and process support simultaneously. Responsible for determining how user requirements and quality requirements will be satisfied within the design solution. Team responsibilities and assignments may be required depending on project complexity and/or technical engineering role within project teams at the Canton site. This position has departmental budgetary responsibilities. This position will participate in both the Site Capital Committee governance and Extend Leadership Team (ELT). 

The Senior Manager, Process Engineering position manages the internal engineering team. In addition, this position may also manage contract engineers, and engineering service providers depending on the current projects and workloads.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
•    Minimum B.S., Biochemical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
•    7 or more years of experience in applied process design engineering relating to biological production.
•    Extensive knowledge of GMP requirements and commissioning and qualification required.
•    Formal training in fermentation/bioreactors and/or typical separation and purification technology applications in biologicals manufacturing is an advantage.
•    Individual with experience must have knowledge of unit operations typically used in biotech and vaccine manufacturing such as bulk manufacturing, downstream operations, formulation, steaming (SIP) and cleaning (CIP). 
•    Ability to effectively communicate, interact and collaborate with internal and external team members is essential. 
•    This position requires strong analytical skills (ability to apply engineering principles to design), hands-on troubleshooting skills and the capability to utilize AutoCAD, analysis software and company quality system software.
