Job Details
The HR Business Technology Solutions (BTS) Business Systems Consultant must have high level customer collaboration and leadership skills to proactively seek out strategic technology business opportunities with HR business clients. Works directly with HR business clients to understand specific business processes, drivers, and strategy; identifies and communicates resulting needs and opportunities for business process improvement that can be enabled via technology. Provides advice, assistance and leadership associated with the planning, procurement, provision, delivery, management, maintenance, and effective HR business use of information systems. This position is expected to work with minimal oversight. The role will support global HR Systems utilized by over 72 countries.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Detail oriented, flexible when faced with change, able to manage multiple tasks and projects
- Thrives in a fast-paced work environment
- Effectively manage communications and expectations with internal and external stakeholders
- Able to function as subject matter expert (SME) to collect complete and accurate business requirements from business SMEs by means of interviews, workflow analyses and facilitated discussions
- Translates users' business requirements into detailed functional designs for development, testing and implementation
- Work as a team player and leader to effectively coordinate across internal teams and third-party providers
- Skilled at building relationships with clients, internal team members and other BTOs to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts
- Develops documentation that accurately reflects client needs and is clearly defined for Development and QA teams (i.e., business requirements, user stories, functional specifications, test plans, business process flows, etc.)
- Performs as subject matter advisor to less experienced team members. May participate in teaching and training members of work team
- Mentors less experienced members of the team
- Collaborates with stakeholders, internal teams, vendors on the evaluation of the feasibility, effort and costs to implement requirement
- Driving and holding internal groups / teams or vendors to a higher standard while meeting the desired outcome for organization
- Allies with Project Managers other BTOs to remain current on project status, and inform customer management of progress; conversely, keeps BTS managers aware of user issues and resolves conflicts
- Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures
