Clinical Analytics is an ambitious team of Data Scientists with a unique blend of Business, Scientific, and Machine Learning expertise that seeks to unleash the full potential of AbbVie’s data assets by bringing technology and/or data and insights to the forefront of decision making via fit-for-purpose data analytics solutions.

The Sr. Manager, Clinical Analytics is a people manager role within Clinical Analytics and is responsible for talent management and operations delivery. Drives Analytics innovation and experimentation to enable data-driven insights for complex business problems. Ensures consistency in analysis techniques and delivery against cross-functional analytics and visualization requirements. Accountable for gathering cross-functional input into the development of Advanced Analytics capabilities, and ensures follow-through via robust project management and stake holder management

  • Manages a team of associates and data scientists in clinical analytics
  • Responsible for coaching, mentoring and performance management of direct reports, as well as talent development in alignment with DSS strategy
  • Leads cross-functional initiatives with matrixed teams; connects with cross-functional leadership and enables analytics capabilities to drive data-driven operations and decision making
  • Influences the cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities to unleash the full-potential of data and analytics
  • Drive the definition, design, implementation and validation of cutting-edge algorithms to analyze disparate data sources to achieve targeted outcomes by leveraging machine-learning and Artificial Intelligence approaches, predictive and statistical modeling concepts, clustering and classification techniques
  • Ensures consistent analytics support to the AbbVie Clinical Trial and Precision Medicine portfolio through effective resource management, prioritization, and timeline management
  • Fosters innovation and entrepreneurial culture within the team that attracts and retains top talent; creates an environment of continuous learning
  • Collaborates across R&D functional areas to link data and key learnings for broad impact on complex, cross-functional projects involving multiple scientific and/or clinical discipline and Advanced Analytics methodologies. Capable of translating complex data science findings to broad audiences (both technical & non-technical)
  • Ensures adherence to federal regulations and applicable local regulations, Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), ICH Guidelines, AbbVie Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and to functional quality standards. Stays abreast of new and/or evolving local regulations, guidelines and policies related to clinical development
