QA Software Engineer / Software Quality Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

  • The ACHT QA Software Engineer is responsible for testing related to IT products, processes, and equipment to ensure compliance with company and regulatory policies, procedures, and specifications.
  • This role executes test plans and documents related test results, contributing to the creation of high-quality products and continuous improvement.
  • The candidate must be analytical, detail-oriented, possess excellent organizational skills, and successfully collaborate with others in the organization.
  • Tests products and processes to establish functionality and effectiveness.
  • Develop standards and procedures to determine product quality and release readiness.
  • The program, execute and analyze automated test scripts.
  • Identify any potential problems that users might encounter and identify, isolate, and track bugs throughout testing working collaboratively with the development team.
  • Review user interfaces for consistency and functionality.
  • Determine what modifications and/or improvements are needed after testing.
  • Assist in the creation and estimation of user stories ensuring they are testable.
  • Research new tools, technologies, and testing processes.
  • Software Quality Engineer will develop, plan, and execute change implementation.
  • Documents results and observations after inspections and audits.
  • Prepare and present reports and metrics to Senior Management.
  • Experience working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams with a delivery focus in both project and operational environments.
  • The Software Quality Engineer will be able to manage their own time and work effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to write clear and concise text for different audiences.
  • Understanding of a complex technical Internet environment.
  • Testing on a variety of platforms including the latest browsers and mobile devices.

Basic Qualifications | Education:

  • Extensive experience with QA methodologies and manual software testing.
  • A basic understanding of how data flows through a system with preference given to candidates who have experience in database testing with the ability to read and execute basic SQL queries.
  • Knowledge with web services, web sites, database, network connectivity and authentication, SQL Server, configuration, and debugging is preferred.
  • 3 years of automated testing experience preferred (or similar developer experience).
  • SmartBear TestComplete automation experience is a plus.
  • Microsoft Team Foundation Server or Azure DevOps is a plus.
  • Previous experience in an Agile environment is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and related technologies essential.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and skills.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and provide solutions.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Uses sound judgment and promptly escalates critical issues.
  • Able to sit in front of a computer for long hours at a time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5 - 10 years of experience in a related role
