Bioanalytical Mass Spectrometrist

Position Description

The successful candidate is able to move between the roles of mass spec operator, trouble shooting/method development resource and service technician.  This is a hands-on position which requires time management and decision making.     Primary daily responsibilities include LC setup, maintenance of mass spec instrumentation, injection of batches, integration of batches and communication of results to internal clients.     As needed responsibilities are consultation with our method development group on new methods, troubleshooting methods and mass spec service and repair.  

Essential Education, Experience & Skills

• Ph.D. in a specifically related science, chemistry, toxicology, or pharmacology. 
• M.S. with at least 3 years direct work experience in mass spectrometry laboratory. 
• B.S. with at least 5 years direct work experience with mass spectrometry.
• Equivalent combination of related education and required work experience will be considered.

Must Haves

• Demonstrated trouble-shooting and critical thinking skills
• Solid understanding of GxP regulations 
• Mechanical aptitude
• Experience communicating experimental processes and scientific conclusions
• HPLC experience

Preferred

• Experience maintaining and repairing instrumentation
• Software: Watson LIMS, Analyst, Smartsheet, Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel
• Peptide, protein, biomarker, and/or oligonucleotide analysis
• Electronics repair experience
