Job Details
The Inflammation and Immunology team is seeking a motivated Temp R&D Specialist join our highly interactive group. Conducts experiments, predominantly of basic immunology and basic lab techniques. Troubleshoots methodological and technical issues, interprets experimental data and literature, and communicates results to supervisor, department, or project team. The ideal candidate will be able to analyze data and interpret results of experiments within the context of research project goals, and work closely with supervisor to prepare and deliver effective oral presentations and papers in the area of expertise during internal and external meetings. Other expectations include maintenance of state-of-the-art laboratory equipment, and accurate and complete records.
As a Temp R&D Specialist, a typical day may include the following:
- Conducting experiments in mice, including handling, injecting, and collecting blood, urine and tissues, among other things. Experience and training in the proper handling and care of mice, general surgical techniques, and the collection of blood and tissue samples is strongly preferred
- Conducting experiments using multiparameter flow cytometry, including cell surface staining, intracellular staining, data acquisition and analysis; experience preferred
- Performing ELISAs, MSD and/or Luminex assays; experience preferred
Conducting in vitro cell-based assays. Sterile tissue culture experience preferred
- Lab and equipment maintenance and order supplies/reagents to help create a safe, effective and efficient working environment
- Candidate will contribute to project advancement by developing new methods or technologies and troubleshooting

To be considered for this role, you must have a BS/MS with at least 3-8 years of experience in inflammation, allergy or autoimmunity. We are seeking hands on training in the proper handling and care of mice, general surgical techniques, and the collection of blood and tissue samples. Experience in tissue culture (maintenance of transformed and primary cells), In vitro cell-based assays is preferred. Experience in flow cytometry, ELISA with preferred experience in MSD and/or Luminex. Basic computer and experience collecting and analyzing biological data on the computer is a necessity. Preferred experience with GraphPad Prism, FlowJo, SoftMax Pro and Meso Scale Discovery (MSD) Workbench software.
