The Director of Global Development Portfolio Management will play a lead role in managing decision-making processes related to Regeneron's drug development pipeline. This individual will work collaboratively to develop, implement, and optimize portfolio processes, establish consistency in governance processes, and track key metrics across the Portfolio. Contribute to the design, implementation, and management of analytical processes and methodologies to facilitate and guide decisions related to strategy formulation, resource allocation, risk management, and portfolio optimization. Build relationships and partner with business stakeholders to continue, enhance and streamline portfolio processes, including working with Digital platform owners and support services team ensuring aligned effort as well as integrated and optimized connectivity of data.

In this role, a typical day may include
  • Analyzing portfolio information from various sources and converting it into compelling facts that enable strategic decision making by Regeneron’s leadership
  • Proactively monitoring the overall health of the pipeline, proactively identifying gaps and leading initiatives to optimize portfolio performance
  • Running periodic analysis on current portfolio in coordination with Program and Therapeutic Area Heads to identify key business needs and potential issues over time
  • Applying understanding of development and market environment to interface and collaborate closely with development and commercial partners
  • Driving operational excellence in quality of deliverables including oversight of analytic outputs, dashboards, and governance materials.
  • Developing business process to enable high quality outputs and drive to "single source of truth" for critical data
  • Developing and supporting recommendations for portfolio options that consider opportunities and trade-offs to create an integrated portfolio that aligns with strategic objectives and supports business goals
  • Providing and supporting rapid impact assessments of key market and/or portfolio events
  • Tracking metrics and generating insights on how to improve project execution
  • Ensuring continuous improvements in planning execution
  • Ensuring consistent and accurate internal reporting of the pipeline enabling one outlook of the current and future view of the portfolio, to include the management of development outputs for the Corporate Strategy 5 – year plan
  • Overseeing, in partnership with the Development Analytics team, the overall analysis and modeling of Regeneron’s development portfolio, including the creation, development and maintenance of the following deliverables: (a) portfolio composition over time, (b) aggregated portfolio timelines and achievements, (c) capacity planning and management, inclusive of portfolio resourcing projections and (d) aggregate portfolio development budget forecasts
  • Overseeing the creation of the vital processes and data flows to enable the creation of all required outputs and supports data standardization efforts
  • Supporting the preparation of portfolio and TA review meetings and other leadership touchpoints
  • Responding to ad-hoc portfolio information requests from senior leaders; Understanding collaborator questions and designing appropriate reporting and analytical frameworks to develop a complete response; Interprets and puts context on analytical findings for impacted business stakeholders
  • Crafting framework and structure to track project milestones, resources, portfolio reporting, and analytics
  • Establishing in partnership with Development Analytics team, the metrics and reporting structure to provide insight for portfolio progression and continuous improvement
  • Building and maintaining working partnership across Regeneron to share optimal practices and, where appropriate, aligning approaches
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

This role might be for you if:

You have strong analytic skills, including sophisticated quantitative modeling and knowledge of quantitative and qualitative portfolio management methodologies are required.

You have prior experience in portfolio modeling using financial, resourcing, and quantitative/qualitative measures as expected

You have solid understanding of the pharmaceutical/biotech landscape, R&D trends, decision analysis, business strategy and markets in major disease areas

Proven ability framing and solving complex problem and the analytical ability to interpret and communicate them effectively

Experience working closely with senior leaders and strong organizational and communication skills, including experience presenting to an executive audience

Skilled at leadership without authority and proven ability to lead a matrixed cross functional team consisting of representatives from across the entire enterprise

Track record of working of work independently and with minimal supervision

Self-starter who takes full ownership over work product and demonstrated a high attention to detail

To be considered, you must have a PhD, MBA or equivalent advanced degree. A minimum of 10 years of experience working within a global portfolio management, project management organization, or strategy department us also needed, ideally in a matrixed pharmaceutical R&D organization.
