Scientist (Rapid Response - Infectious Disease)

The Infectious Disease group is seeking a highly motivated, innovative, and collaborative Scientist to join a team focusing on development of antiviral therapeutics under our Rapid Response program. The successful candidate will play an integral part in Regeneron's long-standing commitment to develop novel therapies for diseases caused by viral pathogens. In this role you will oversee key aspects of the SARS-CoV-2 spike antibody program and will guide selection and development of next-generation clinical candidates. In addition, this position will focus on development of novel antiviral therapy platforms to address future pandemic preparedness. This is a great opportunity to perform cutting edge research while learning fundamental aspects of the drug development process. Applicants must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as you will be expected to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment. This is primarily a lab-based, hands-on position and is a great opportunity for the right candidate to grow their expertise and learn many facets of drug development in a fast-paced, stimulating environment. 

As a Scientist in Infectious Diseases, a typical day may include the following: 

-  Design, plan, and independently perform in vitro experiments, using a variety of molecular biology and virology techniques

-  Document experimental procedures and results in a well-organized fashion

-  Compile results across experiments and programs into presentations and present to colleagues and senior management

-  Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across the company, communicate with many colleagues across the organization

-  Participate in small and large team meetings, review data and experimental plans

-  Author documents to be published in regulatory filings, patent applications, external conference posters, and journal articles

To be considered for this role, you must have a PhD with 3-6 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in a related field (virology, immunology, molecular biology, Ab development) with a strong publication record. We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in cellular and molecular biology and virology. Experience with virus propagation, plaque assays, cloning, tissue culture, reverse genetics is highly desired. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work productively in a fast-paced collaborative team environment are a must.
