Summary Description

We are currently seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, and experienced individual for the position of Global Development Team Leader commercialized women’s health product.  The individual is responsible for developing the strategy and operational plan for one or more drug development projects, and for leading the cross-functional project team.  Will collaborate closely with functional area heads, and key stakeholders across the organization.  This position will interact regularly with Executive Committee members to ensure that the Committee is informed of each project’s strategy, plan, challenges and status, as well as, to ensure escalation of recommendations on important project issues for review and approval.  This position reports to Sr. Vice President, Product Development.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains primary accountability for the direction and vision of the assigned project as outlined and endorsed by corporate governance such that project strategy is aligned with target product profile and corporate goals and objectives
  • Responsible for the forward progress of assigned development programs as measured by the achievement of milestones, meeting timeline and budget goals, and other key performance indicators as leader of the Global Development Project Team
  • Provide support for lifecycle management and long-range planning as the development representative on the Life Cycle Team
  • Lead and motivate team members; encourage teamwork, proactive communication, and adherence to Myovant Core Values
  • Partner with Program Management and stakeholders to ensure that:
    • Global project development and regulatory strategy and associated integrated project plan are complete, robust, and endorsed
    • Project Team is adequately resourced, and all team members understand and accept their roles and responsibilities
    • Project resources are sufficient to support approved goals and objectives
    • Project risks are understood and plans for mitigation are put into place in a timely fashion
    • Roadblocks and challenges are recognized and escalated to senior management in a timely and appropriately considered manner for discussion and resolution
    • Alignment on and visibility of project decisions, risk mitigation plans, and changes to project plans exists within broader organization
    • Program budgets are developed and maintained per Myovant requirements
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Development Project Team, Functional Area Heads and Executive Committee members, and if applicable, alliance partners and key opinion leaders essential to project success.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to ensure that long range project planning is completed in a timely and effective fashion. Ensure that Development Project Team proactively addresses and communicates changes to long range plan and project status (e.g., trial duration, filing timelines, change in probability of technical and regulatory success or target product profile).
  • Promote external presentation of scientific advances made by teams while ensuring that relevant information is aligned with overall product/ project strategy and reviewed/ cleared by legal or regulatory groups.

  • Thorough knowledge of the pharmaceutical development process and the criteria associated with progression through the development lifecycle, the scientific rationale and technical issues associated with product development, and the clinical, regulatory, and market drivers impacting development strategy.
  • Ability to provide clear direction to team members and external influencers, and to be a champion for assigned development project and its goals. Be able to actively solicit input from team members, Functional Area Heads, and Senior Management and build alignment.
  • Demonstrate communication and collaboration skills with an ability to manage and influence stakeholders in a matrix environment effectively

REQUIREMENTS (Education and Experience)

  • MD, PhD, MS in scientific discipline associated with biotechnology/ pharma background
  • 15+years of in-depth experience relevant to project oversight, line management, and clinical development processes and lifecycle
