Kezar Life Sciences (NASDAQ: KZR), a clinical-stage biotechnology sciences company located in South San Francisco, is seeking a Sr. Research Associate (SRA) or Scientist for our DMPK group. The SRA or Scientist will report to a Sr. Scientist and will play a major scientific role in the research and development of novel therapies for serious diseases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all aspects of ADME functions to support a growing biotechnology company.
Kezar is focused on small molecule drug discovery and development to target immune-mediated diseases and cancer. Kezar’s lead product candidate, KZR-616, a selective inhibitor of the immunoproteasome, is being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials for the treatment of severe autoimmune diseases. KZR-261, Kezar’s first oncology candidate targeting the protein secretion pathway via the Sec61 translocon, is now being studied in a Phase 1 clinical trial in several oncology indications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position will be responsible for all aspects of in vitro and in vivo ADME function studies including bioanalytical method development and optimization for lead candidates.
- This position will involve working on ongoing programs as well as leading new/emerging projects.
- Hands-on participation in project-related experiments will be essential to success in this position.
- Flexibility to work simultaneously on multiple projects under tight timelines and changing priorities is a must for this position.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s with 5 years or MS with 2 years of relevant industrial experience in pharmacokinetics, biochemistry, chemistry, or related field.
- Experience with operating Applied Biosystems Mass Spectrometers such as API4000, API5500, etc.
- Hands on experience in the application of in vivo and in vitro studies to support pre-clinical PK or metabolism studies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, interfacing with departments and collaborators.
