We are expanding in our Genetic Toxicology team in our Research Triangle Park location. Performing regulated toxicology studies in laboratory rodents for commercial and governmental clients.



Responsibilities of the Formulations Chemist include (but are not limited to): prepare formulations for GLP-compliant and non-GLP studies; coordinate with ILS Study Directors and Project Managers to ensure timely preparation and  delivery of formulations for in-house studies; set up paperwork and perform calculations for formulations and analytical chemistry studies; coordinate and maintain ILS chemical repository inventory; archive test chemical samples for studies, as needed; perform formulation analyses as needed as back-up analytical chemist; coordinate with outside analytical laboratories for preparation and shipment of formulation samples as needed; assist with company-wide collection and disposal of hazardous waste and equipment calibrations; perform laboratory maintenance tasks (e.g. equipment monitoring/maintenance, disposal of expired chemicals, laboratory clean-up, etc.); maintain supply inventories and prepare purchase orders as needed; maintain accurate study forms/records; handle data (e.g. organize data, prepare data tables); assist in the preparation of protocols, reports, SOPs, presentations; assist with software and instrumentation validation; work independently with detailed instruction and minor oversight; work in a team environment with a professional and positive attitude. Other duties as needed.



B.S. degree in chemistry or related field with 2-5 years relevant experience. Previous experience preparing formulations for dosing test systems highly preferred. Strong mathematical skills required. Experience with HPLC and/or UV/Vis analytical procedures desirable. Basic laboratory skills, e.g., performing calculations for formulation and analytical paperwork, accurate pipetting technique, required. Experience working under GLP or regulatory compliance highly preferred. Good written and oral communication skills, excellent computer skills working with word processing, spreadsheets and databases required. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills required. Should be able to wear a respirator, if needed. A flexible schedule and occasional weekend work may be required.
