Schrödinger’s mission is to revolutionize drug discovery and materials science through the use of breakthrough computational software. We are currently looking for a full-time, paid Finance Intern to join our team based in Portland, Oregon for the summer of 2022.

Our Finance team comprises over 45 professionals involved in a broad range of functional areas, including revenue accounting, general accounting, order management, financial planning and analysis, internal controls, equity plan management and payroll. The intern will have the opportunity to gain experience in the financial planning and analysis group, and learn how it works within the Finance team and drives decision-making for a publicly-traded life sciences, material sciences and software development company.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in consolidating information to help management better understand the business
  • Assist and sometimes lead process-improvement projects that will drive more accurate, efficient, and informed financial projections
  • Help develop and improve current FP&A model (Anaplan)
  • Help organize & prepare standardized templates for financial planning, analysis & reporting
  • Monitor key performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing the root causes of variances to deliver valuable insight and recommendations
  • Work closely with other areas of the Finance organization by performing analysis and delivering information as requested
  • Contribute meaningful research and analysis that will improve decision-making by Finance leadership

What you’ll need:

  • Entering final year of master’s degree program in Accounting, Finance, or other applicable field
  • Previous experience working on Anaplan
  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft and/or Google suites (Excel/Sheets, PowerPoint/Slides, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of accounting and finance principles
  • Great verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to be work independently and as part of a team environment
  • Successfully navigate ambiguity while working with a team
