Position Title: Associate Scientist, In Vivo Pharmacology

Reports to: Associate Director, In Vivo Pharmacology

Company Background:

Century Therapeutics is developing novel allogeneic living cell products for oncology that overcome the limitations of current cell therapies. Century's genetically-engineered, universal iPSC-derived immune effector cell products are designed to specifically target hematologic and solid tumor cancers. Our commitment to developing off-the-shelf cell therapies will expand patient access and provide an unparalleled opportunity to advance the course of cancer care.

Century's foundational technology is built on induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) that have unlimited self-renewing capacity. This enables complex cellular engineering to produce controlled cell banks of modified cells that can be expanded and differentiated into desired immune effector cells, which can supply vast amounts of allogeneic, homogeneous therapeutic products. This platform differentiates Century from other approaches that utilize non-renewable donor-derived cells.

Role:

The Associate Scientist, In Vivo Pharmacology, will support the development of iPSC-derived immune effector cell therapies for cancer research. The Associate Scientist is responsible for regularly collaborating with other functional areas within Century to enable the successful and timely execution of in vivo studies. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and organized, with the ability to execute multiple experiments in parallel. S/he will have exceptional proficiencies in rodent in vivo laboratory techniques and animal handling, be self-motivated and flexible, and have a strong willingness to work in a team environment to successfully execute in vivo oncology studies. Experience with oncology cell therapy is desirable. Knowledge of in vivo imaging and the principles of ex vivo/in vitro assays are a plus.

Responsibilities:
  • Execute in vivo oncology studies, in accordance with Institutional Animal Care and Use protocols.
  • Develop rodent tumor models.
  • Manage multiple experiments simultaneously.
  • Electronic documentation of data and results.
  • Analyze, interpret, document, and present data and results.
  • Independent problem-solving and risk-mitigation.

Qualifications:
  • Substantial proficiency in oncology-related in vivo technical dosing, bleeding, and observational skills.
  • Experience with mouse models for testing of cell therapy / humanization.
  • Experience with small animal imaging and imaging analysis is desirable.
  • Knowledge of oncology in vivo modeling, including disseminated/hematological and solid tumor mouse models.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and independently problem-solve.
  • Experience with CAR-T or CAR-NK therapy is desirable.

Requirements:
  • B.S. or M.S. in a relevant biological field with 4-6 years of oncology in vivo experience in industry.
  • Legally permitted to work in the United States.
