We need your talent!  Waters Corporation is currently seeking a Senior Evaluation Engineer, with a passion for delivering quality products, to join our Informatics Engineering team that is responsible for developing novel analytical SaaS-based applications.. 

 

The ideal candidate will have a background in chemistry, experience with Empower and be a creative, analytical thinker with outstanding problem-solving skills and the ability to understand complex algorithms and technologies. You will work in a fast-paced, agile environment to develop test strategies, design test cases, and manually test software to verify that it meets the product requirements.

Responsibilities

The meaningful work you will be asked to lead:

  • Participate in the end-to-end software development lifecycle which includes user story creation and review and input for acceptance criteria; writing, reviewing, executing and auditing test cases; writing/updating project documentation and participation in various Agile ceremonies as part of an Agile team (retrospectives, demos, planning meetings, etc)
  • Work closely with team members from Marketing, Development, Evaluation, Technical Communications, Support and Subject Matter Experts as part of an Agile team to ensure the development of a product/feature meets customer needs
  • Mentor junior colleagues and third-party contractors on project tool sets and software lifecycle process

Qualifications

Abilities that will help you be successful:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related STEM discipline
    Minimum of 5+ years of experience utilizing scientific data systems, preferably with Empower software.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks to successful project completion
  • Working knowledge of networking and computer functions

Other Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Agile/SCRUM methodology a plus
  • Knowledge of Algorithm Validation a plus
  • Software Process lifecycle knowledge/expertise a plus
  • Prior industry experience, particularly with chromatography a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Waters Empower software
  • Familiarity with Git, SpecFlow, and Gherkin
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming
