Overview

Waters has an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Financial Analyst to provide business partnership, analytical and accounting support to the Software Development organization.  The Senior Financial Analyst will be a key member of the Software Development finance team, which provides accounting, analysis, planning, forecasting, and operational support for the organization.  The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the Finance Manager for the Software Development organization and partner closely with finance colleagues and key stakeholders in support of the organization's strategy, operational plans and execution, and reporting needs.

  • Partner with leaders, business partners and cross-functional staff across the organization to understand key business activities and develop annual operating plans for certain OPEX and P&L lines
  • Responsible for monthly analysis and tracking of certain OPEX, Capex and P&L lines for the Software Development Group and explaining variances to budget and forecast
  • Support the monthly close process for the Software Development Group's financials and adhere to the company's accounting principles and procedures, such as:
    • Journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations involving different payment schedules and accounts
    • Tracking and troubleshooting prepayments, intercompany transfers, and other complex scenarios
  • Present financial results, analytical findings and recommendations to senior management within finance and to business partners in order to facilitate informed decision making
  • Identify opportunities to increase the use of technology and reduce waste related to the aggregation, analysis and reporting of key data
  • Work independently and as a fully contributing member of a multi-locational team with challenging, often conflicting deadlines
  • Perform other ad-hoc requests and special projects as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 
    • MBA strongly desired but not required
  • 5+ years of experience in Financial Analysis and/or Accounting capacity.
  • Complete understanding of accounting principles, concepts, practices, and standards.
  • Problem solving skills in order to develop solutions to a variety of complex problems.
  • Analytical skills to collect, summarize and interpret financial results.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively deal with employees and business leaders within the group and outside of Finance.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work activities in order to meet deadlines. The ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-starter able to work under general direction, plans and arranges own activities to accomplish objectives.
  • High degree of computer literacy with accounting enterprise software and Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
    • Advanced Excel experience required (V Lookups, Pivot tables, etc.)
    • SAP or equivalent experience required. BW or Analysis for Office preferred.
    • Office 365 experience a plus
