Job Details

Fate Therapeutics is seeking an Associate Director, Talent Development to join our Human Resources team. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of career development, professional development, and leadership development programs at Fate.
 
This newly created role will assist in the design and delivery of new hire onboarding and the development of career development workshops and resources for Fate employees and their managers. This position will also lead and manage leadership development programs, including the creation of a new leader onboarding program (Leading @ Fate) and leading professional and team development workshops.
 
This is a full-time position reporting to the Sr. Director, Culture and Talent Development and is located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA.
Responsibilities
  • Support the execution, development and facilitation of growth and development initiatives that enhance and build a culture of learning at Fate.
  • Oversee the design, development and implementation of career development, career pathing and career guides to accelerate development and increase engagement of our workforce.
  • Provide tools and resources to support employee development at Fate, educating and informing employees and their managers of these tools and resources available, including LinkedIn Learning.
  • Create and deliver a variety of development solutions, including instructor-led courses (face to face and virtual) and e-learning modules, incorporating a blended approach to delivery.
  • Develop and maintain calendar of training events, including professional development and team development workshops.
  • Develop communication and promotional strategies to raise awareness of talent development resources and offerings.
  • Lead and execute leadership development programs that supports the ongoing growth and development of all leader levels.
  • Drive the ongoing design and development of our manager and leadership development efforts that continuously enhances the knowledge and capability to enable managers to effectively lead the organization toward achievement of strategic initiatives.
  • Create new leader onboarding program (Leading @ Fate) to supports all new people leaders in Fate’s managerial processes and leadership expectations. 

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years in a Learning and Development (L&D), Organizational Development (OD) or Talent Management related role, biotech L&D/OD experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area or professional level HR industry certifications
  • Clear and concise communication, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to build trusting relationships with diverse counterparts
  • Certification or prior experience with learning curriculum and workshops like DISC, Emotional Intelligence, Coaching, Crucial Conversations and Situational Leadership a plus.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • Occasional evening and weekend work will be required.
  • Approximately 50% on-site work at corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA
  • 10% travel to other Fate offices
