The Senior Director, Global Strategic Marketing / Product Management, will be responsible for new product planning and global strategic marketing/product management across Emergent’s portfolio of Infectious Disease products, product candidates, and portfolio building initiatives.  Responsibilities will include commercial leadership for development product candidates in Emergent’s advancing portfolio as well as for LCM strategies and activities for launched products. The individual fulfilling this role will be a key member of product development teams, lead commercial teams, collaborate with cross functional colleagues in optimizing product and brand strategies, and deliver key tactical activities.  The individual fulfilling this role will deliver accountabilities in accordance with the Emergent core values and leadership competencies. 


While physical presence at the Emergent HQ (Gaithersburg, MD) is desired, its a remote working role with the requirement to travel regulary to Emergent HQ as needed.

Strategic Analysis and Planning
•    Generate and leverage business intelligence on market, competitive, scientific trends, and events to identify key insights and anticipate future opportunities and barriers.
•    Partner with Market Research/ Analytics to generate insights regarding patients/ caregivers, HCPs, payers.
•    Ensure external intelligence is synthesized & integrated in brand strategies and activities.
•    Facilitate integration of innovation in strategies to achieve goals and leadership.
•    Accountable for global and long range product revenue forecasts, sensitivities, key scenarios, in coordination with key stakeholders; accountable for product business cases.


Brand Strategy Development and Management
•    Lead and coordinate the cross-functional planning process to deliver initial and subsequent global strategic brand plans.
•    Accountable for maintaining and driving updates to optimize TPPs, Target Product Claims, positioning, message strategy, and select communications tools.
•    Lead extended team to deliver global launch pricing and access strategy, as required by development stage, ultimately supporting global value dossier and country launch sequence.
•    Accountable for brand budget development and management.
•    Lead LCM strategic planning and implementation to continue to optimize product profiles after initial launch.
•    Support franchise and business portfolio planning and building initiatives.


Communication & Collaboration
•    Represent voice of customer to product development teams and other partners to ensure product commercial success.
•    Articulate strategy/ plans, requirements, and business concerns to senior executives and governance committees.
•    Build and foster effective business relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including agency partners and customers.
•    Collaborate closely with research and development, market research, forecasting, global brand commercial team, legal, regulatory, corporate affairs, and medical affairs team members for global strategic planning of product and enabling translation into successful commercialization.

•    Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, healthcare marketing, health sciences or a related field is required; advanced business degree (MBA) is considered an asset.
•    10+ years of applicable experience in Biopharmaceutical new product planning, strategic and in-line marketing, and / or product management. 
•    Experience in global commercialization, pricing/market access, market research and analytics, business development, travel health, and infectious disease a plus.
•    Experienced with drug and vaccine product development processes.
•    Track record of innovative strategy development, alignment, and implementation.
•    Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to synthesize findings. 
•    Proven ability to collaborate and influence across functional and organizational boundaries, strong team player.
•    Business and scientific acumen.
•    Strong written and oral communication skills, including for executive audiences.
•    Effective in matrixed, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial environments. 
•    Proven ability to lead multiple projects efficiently and independently
