Facilities Technician

The General Maintenance Craftworker is primarily responsible for Corrective and Preventative Maintenance of building and unassigned AVA/CU equipment and infrastructure. Perform repairs and improvements utilizing construction and mechanical knowledge. Provide technical support to other Facility Services teams, Engineering projects, and other departments. Comply with cGMP, GDP, and all applicable Life Safety and building codes. 

Essential Functions

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of building and equipment
• Maintains utility closets or coordination of vendors that PM them.
• Performs routine maintenance of campus buildings and structures, as well as maintenance on security gates and turnstiles 
• Performs technical and administrative updates to preventive maintenance plans
• Maintains training requirements
• Assist with interior and exterior painting & Upkeep
• Complete carpentry projects as assigned (framing walls, hanging drywall, finishing drywall, installation of drop ceiling grids and tiles, carpet installation, door and exit device installations, system furniture installation, and minor sheet metal fabrication). 
• Maintain a current and detailed knowledge of cGMP
• Participate in special projects as assigned by management 
• Seek ways to increase operational efficiency 
• Provides technical support for engineering projects within their functional area
• Provide set-up and logistical support for VIP visits and on campus corporate functions

Education, Experience & Skills

• HS Diploma/GED
• 5 years of general maintenance experience required
• Prior cGMP experience is strongly preferred
• Must have the ability to multi-task and coordinate workload by priority 
• Must be customer service and quality driven 
• Must comply with all applicable rules and regulations of Emergent and the Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry. This includes FDA regulations such as cGMP, GDP, EH&S regulations, and company regulations such as the employee handbook
