About the Role

Gilead Sciences is looking for a Finance Senior Manager – US Commercial & US Medical Affairs Finance to join our FP&A team in Foster City, CA. In this important role, you will partner with leadership across the Finance, US Medical, Commercial, and functional teams from US Sales and Marketing organization. While reporting to the Head of HIV Commercial Finance, you will have diverse responsibilities ranging from improving forecast and budget process, helping with and designing resource allocation process, enhancing financial analysis models to improve decision making, legislative impact analysis, assisting with implementations of ERP/other systems and adhoc requests.

What you will do
  • Establish strong business partnerships with the US Commercial organization and supporting functions to provide comprehensive financial support and ongoing analytics.
  • Drive development of meaningful financial analyses and create effective presentations to communicate conclusions and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Drive development and implementation of key process improvement initiatives. Proactively engage with Finance colleagues and business partners to develop continuous process improvements to planning, analyses and reporting.
  • Provide on-going and ad-hoc analytical support to management, cross-functional teams.
  • Be an expert in relevant Gilead Financial tools/systems, provide expertise and support to broader US Commercial Finance team.

  • Business Savvy and Financial Acumen: The candidate will possess exceptional financial, analytical and problem-solving skills. These skills must be balanced by sound business judgment.
  • Project Management: The candidate must possess the ability to actively manage the execution of projects that involve cross-functional stakeholders. This includes providing guidance on project scope and timelines, integrating the work of multiple teams into project deliverables, and ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables.


Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
  • A BS or BA is required.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in Finance, having held positions of increasing scope and responsibility.
  • Must have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint with familiarity in Oracle, Hyperion, and Tableau preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and modeling skills, strong knowledge of GAAP and solid understanding of corporate finance concepts
  • A CPA or master's degree is preferred.
  • Prior experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
  • Solution oriented, with good analytical capabilities.
  • Demonstrated success working in a deadline driven and multi-task environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as an effective member of our team.
