Sr. Research Scientist, Protein Therapeutics
Essential Duties and Job Functions:
Our Protein Therapeutics Department is seeking a highly motivated individual with solid protein biochemistry background and working experience to join the Protein Chemistry team. The candidate will be responsible for independently designing expression constructs, expressing proteins in E. coli and insect cells, purifying and characterizing protein samples to support recombinant protein needs from our drug discovery projects. He/she should have hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of recombinant protein expression, AKTA chromatography systems operation as well as protein biochemical/biophysical characterizations. The candidate will be responsible to support multiple projects in parallel and serve as a resource and provide direction for project teams and other research personnel. The candidate should maintain familiarity with scientific literature in new technologies.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
Applicant should have a PhD degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or related scientific disciplines with 2 to 5 years, or MS degree in a similar discipline with 6+ years of working experience.
Prior knowledge of small molecule drug discovery and/or protein structural studies is a plus.
The ideal candidate should have excellent protein expression and purification problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
He/she should be self-motivated and work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team setting to execute high quality experiment in a fast-paced environment and be adapted to changing priorities and timeline.
