Director, Global Market Access Pipeline Strategy

REGN has a rapidly expanding and increasingly diversified portfolio of investigational products, spanning across oncology, immunology, general medicine and rare diseases. To support the optimal clinical development and ensure the successful launch of these assets, we are seeking to recruit a Director, Global Market Access Pipeline Strategy, based in the US, who can lead the global market access plan for these assets.

Summary

The Director, Market Access Pipeline Strategy will lead market access strategy development for pipeline assets in early development as well as the market access launch planning for more near-term launch assets.

This role requires a skilled strategist who has experience and expertise to optimize the direction of individual assets within the context of a broad portfolio. ensuring successful launch readiness in payer systems within the US and across prioritized ex-US markets.  

 The individual will be a key partner to the commercial and R&D organizations, bringing an increased appreciation of US and global payer evidence needs by integrating timely payer insight and perspectives into commercial planning and clinical development decisions.  This is a highly collaborative role that will work cohesively within a cross-functional team that includes New Product Planning, HEOR, Medical Affairs, US Market Access, Clinical Development, and in some cases with our alliance partners.  Furthermore, the successful candidate will be expected to engage frequently with senior leaders across the organization and must be able to build relationships and communicate effectively.

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Analyze trends and/or changes in the global market access environment, including competitors, to determine the strategic implications for the pipeline
  • Create and lead strategic market access and pricing plans for pipeline assets, with particular focus on US, EU and Japan
  • Shape value concepts and payer value proposition(s) for agreed target patient populations
  • Provide market access guidance on sequencing and optimization selection from alternate development options
  • Plan for early access programs and compassionate use programs in partnership with the development team and patient advocacy
  • Advise clinical cross-functional team on options for early engagement with HTA authorities with clear recommendations on the insight / knowledge gaps to address, then execute on recommendations
  • Lead or drive the development of market access deliverables for near-launch assets including global value proposition, objection handlers, launch readiness plans
  • Identify clinical and economic evidence needs to achieve target reimbursement; partner with New Product Planning, Clinical and Regulatory on evidence requirements; ensure that market access inputs are incorporated into clinical trial designs for all lifecycle indications and that there is a plan in place to address evidence gaps
  • Support the New Product Planning lead with key activities including forecasting and business development initiatives
  • Develop annual tactical plans and manage project budgets and vendors

Experience and Skills:

  • 12+ years of "progressive" industry/relevant professional experience in either consulting and/ or pharmaceutical/biotech
  • US and global market access experience of 5+ years with solid knowledge in building successful market access plans / strategies for key global payer systems (e.g. US, FRA, GER, UK)
  • At least 2 years of experience leading pipeline market access strategy
  • Some product launch experience in a market access role required
  • Track record of building productive work relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Has demonstrated initiative, critical thinking skills, and an ability to work effectively in complex, evolving environments
  • Strong project and process management skills; ability to work on multiple tasks and to effectively prioritize
  • Previous experience working in and leading a matrix team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in life science, economics, health economics or related discipline required, advanced degree preferred

Travel: some travel required (<10%), primarily international
