The Quality Digital Strategy Director will be a pivotal member and leader of Amgens comprehensive Quality Transformation program enabling Amgen to continue delivering on its mission to serve patients amidst an increasingly dynamic and competitive landscape. Amgen is looking for an experienced professional to direct and support a cross-functional program team through strong team leadership, collaboration, communication, and influencing skills. The digital transformation will be multi-faceted; successful deployment will include end-to-end process simplification and the development of a digital ecosystem to seamlessly integrate data flows across the enterprise.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead a cross-functional team in advancing the Amgen Qualitys digitals transformation strategy, including collaboration with functional leadership, integration of processes, and optimization of development and data science resources

  • Manage portfolio governance including driving decision making, prioritization, and issue escalation to ensure timely mitigation and resolution

  • Directly manage a small team of Product Owners to shape and drive the execution of key development efforts through Agile practices

  • Develop, maintain, and cultivate digital and business capability and technology roadmap in partnership with IS / DTI colleagues

  • Conduct rapid assessment of opportunities to quickly test hypotheses, quantify value, refine scope, and facilitate development and endorsement of robust business cases

  • Responsible for program budget, funding, resources, financial and operational business outcomes (KPIs) and commitments

  • Orchestrate comprehensive change management plan including communications, staff engagement, training, and sponsorship

  • Monitor and evaluate external trends and cross-industry benchmarks to help shape ongoing transformation and technology roadmap

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 4 years of engineering, business management and/or life sciences experience

Or

Masters degree and 8 years of engineering, business management and/or life sciences experience

Or

Bachelors degree and 10 years of engineering, business management and/or life sciences experience

And

4 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in engineering, business management and/or life science

  • 8 years of engineering, business management and/or life sciences experience

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytic skills, specifically financial analysis, business case development, portfolio planning, and resource & budget management

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and contribute to large, digital transformation programs and collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams

  • Substantial experience in data science, data-driven application development, and application lifecycle management

  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and experience as a product owner and/or scrum master

  • Understanding of drug and combination product development, manufacturing, and distribution

  • Experience in post-market surveillance, complaint investigations, combination product and device regulations

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate across all areas of Amgen, to include Operations, R&D, and Commercial partners

  • Consistently delivers on-time, and high-quality results aligned with ambition and business commitments

  • Strong executive presence and communication skills, ability to lead governance and drive decision making using DAI principles

  • Able to craft a vision / ambition for the future and systematically bring to life through relentless execution, prioritization, and change management

  • Robust and pragmatic problem-solving approach with ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems

  • Champion of Amgen values and leadership attributes; patient-centric approach
