Job Details

Fate Therapeutics is seeking a talented and highly motivated administrative professional to provide organizational and administrative support to our Laboratory Operations team with a focus on laboratory equipment management tracking. This position has been created to support the company as they transition away from a legacy equipment tracking system to an enterprise system. The successful candidate will support the Facilities Department with supportive activities, including inspecting laboratory equipment to collect identifiable information, inputting equipment information into Fate’s asset management software, and scanning/uploading relevant equipment documents. This is a temporary full-time position reporting to the Manager, Laboratory Operations and will be located at the Company’s corporate headquarters and research facilities in San Diego, California. 
Primary Responsibilities
  • Inspect various pieces of laboratory equipment including incubators, biological safety cabinets, refrigerators, freezers, and specialized equipment to determine and document relevant identifiable information (manufacturer, equipment type, model #, serial #, etc.).
  • Generate and document internal equipment identification numbers for newly received equipment.
  • Transcribe or enter identifiable equipment information into Fate’s asset management software.
  • Scan and upload equipment manuals, certificates, and other receipt documentation.
  • Review operation and maintenance manuals to determine preventative maintenance requirements.
  • Enter historic equipment calibration, service, and preventative maintenance dates and relevant information into Fate’s asset management software.
  • Maintain a safe work environment; work in a safe manner following all safety SOPs and wear Personal Protective Equipment as required.
  • Maintain accurate record keeping of equipment.
  • Work independently and make sound judgments regarding work methods and tools.

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of administrative or operations experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with equipment or asset management software preferred.
  • High school diploma or greater. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Must be extremely detail oriented with proficient problem-solving abilities.
  • Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, able to prioritize, multitask, and work in a fast paced & dynamic environment.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • 100% on site work at various Fate Therapeutics locations in San Diego, CA.
  • The candidate will need to periodically travel between Fate Therapeutics locations in San Diego as needed.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work will be required.
