Job Details

If you are a student pursuing a Masters or PhD degree in Computer science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biological sciences, or related, you may be a fit for an internship in our Global Development organization.

Tarrytown, NY is where medicines are discovered. Our robust research and development engine allows us to discover therapies that could have a profound impact on patient health and scientific outcomes.

We generate ideas, explore them and challenge them on their way to becoming life-changing medicines.

Our unique ability to repeatedly and consistently translate science into medicine has led to a robust pipeline of clinical-stage medicines, all of which were discovered in our laboratories. Our investigational treatments target allergic and inflammatory diseases, cancer, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, neuromuscular diseases, infectious diseases and rare diseases.

It’s a collegial place where science leads, and you’ll be supplied with what you need to do great work. We’re creative thinkers and rigorous workers. We never lose sight of the fact that the work we do here can change the world.

Project Description

In the journey to create digital endpoints in clinical trials, REGN is collecting an increasing amount of data via sensors or remote technology. Digital endpoints offer opportunities to improve what we know about patients’ biologic processes and clinical functioning or responses to treatment, in both clinical trials and routine clinical care. To replace less reliable COAs (e.g., PROs or observatory outcomes), more flexible data processing and analysis methods are needed to analyze wearable sensor data. This project will focus on the standardization and pipelining of current wearable datasets, as well as on the development of novel analytical and statistical methods to answer specific questions about clinical outcomes. The project may focus on 1) development of novel statistical methods to investigate wearable senor data generated from complex trial designs, 2) investigate time series analysis methods and comparing these head‐to‐head with processed data methods for performance evaluation, 3) explore how public/published data can be used to increase understanding and impact of internally generated wearable sensor data. The outcome of this project will be to have a set of resources for a variety of currently underexplored analytical methods, and to have a more comprehensive understanding of how data from wearable devices can be used to address specific clinical questions.

This intern project will be highly collaborative between ECD&ES/Precision Medicine and eCOA/Patient Innovation and will contribute significantly to the continual development and improvement of Regeneron’s scientific capacity to process wearable data, an increasing feature of clinical trial innovation.
