ROLE SUMMARY

Working in close collaboration with scientific and technical teams, the Senior Associate LIMS Specialist role will contribute to and/or lead the business analysis, design, development, implementation, validation, and support of existing and new Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) across Pfizer R&D.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish relationships with scientists and technical teams across R&D to implement LIMS and LIMS-related solutions that meet requirements related to sample tracking and processing, experiment execution, data collection, data processing, data reporting, instrument and software integration, and end-to-end data workflows

  • Collect and generate full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) documentation

  • Design, configure and/or customize, and install commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) LIMS solutions according to business requirements

  • Participate in the collection and documentation of business and functional requirements

  • Interface with commercial software vendors as necessary to design, implement, and support LIMS solutions

  • Interface with in-house and off-shore LIMS support teams to guide, design, or implement resolution to technical LIMS issues and enhancement requests

  • Interface with in-house infrastructure, storage, and network teams as necessary to implement LIMS solutions

  • Work with compliance, technical, and scientific teams to insure proper validation of regulated implementations
     

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a scientific or information-technology related field

  • 3+ years designing, implementing, and supporting LIMS solutions in the Pharmaceutical or related industry

  • Experience in the administration, installation, configuration, customization, optimization, and support of LabVantage LIMS

  • Experience in scripting and/or software development

  • Demonstrated experience with Java/J2EE, JBoss, Unix/Linux, Oracle or SQL Server, SQL, Unix/Linux, JBoss, Windows, REST

  • Understanding of networking concepts and ability to effectively identify and resolve issues (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, etc)

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and a track record of fostering positive customer relationships

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
     

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with GxP Software Validation and 21-CFR-Part 11 Compliance

  • Experience in the administration, installation, configuration, customization, and support of LabWare LIMS

  • Experience with cloud solutions, Bartender, Talend ETL, Jasper Reports, Labware LIMS Basic, LabVantage Workflows, LabVantage Analytics, LabVantage Web Page Designer, LabVantage LIMS CI, LabVantage LIMS Connect, Javascript, Groovy, Project management experience

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Occasional work outside of normal business hours or workdays to accommodate customer priorities across time zones.

  • Working in open-office environment and/or remotely

  • Occasional travel to Pfizer or collaborator sites (<5%)

  • Occasional observational and support activities in laboratory settings.
