Summary
Precision BioSciences Summer Internship Program allows current students the opportunity to complete a combination of larger projects to solve a key problem and day to day tasks to better understand what a career in the given field entails. Interns will also participate in group learning and networking opportunities and enhance presentation skills through a capstone presentation at the end of the summer.
This position is a full-time internship, working 40 hours per week for approximately 12 weeks in the summer.
The Analytical Development (Cell Therapy) Intern will be supporting the Analytical Development team in the Product Sciences, CMC Department to implement established assays that help the company better understand and characterize its CAR T cell drug products, in terms of their bioenergetics, proliferative capacity, functionality and tumor killing efficacy. This will require learning and adopting multiple immunoassays and analyzing data in a timely manner. Additionally, the intern may gain insight into the CAR T cell process development.

- Perform aseptic cell culture with primary mammalian cells or cell lines
- Utilize such techniques flow cytometry, magnetic cell separation, MSD, IsoLight and/or Seahorse
- Execute established assays and analyze data according to SOPs
- Maintain an electronic lab notebook to document all experiments in a timely fashion
Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (rising Senior preferred) or Master’s degree or PhD in biology, immunology, or related field
- Familiarity with general laboratory setting and equipment, including pipettes and centrifuge, is required
- Hands-on experience in general lab techniques, like aseptic mammalian cell culture is required
- Familiarity with primary T cells is a plus
- Experience running and analyzing data from multiparametric flow cytometry is a plus
- Experience with data analysis and presentation tools like Excel and Prism is preferred
